Gold with good, foamy white head / Sweet grain and spicy nose / Medium body, somewhat sweet, creamy but with fine, zesty carbonation, and good although only modestly hoppy finish / Flavors of grain and honey, with cayenne/black pepper notes / Very nice. 12oz bottle 7/8/09 (Siciliano’s Market-Grand Rapids)-Pours a slightly hazed darker golden with a small white head. Aroma of grains, sweetness, and malt. This light bodied brew tastes is of the same with some hops and some faint Belgian yeast. Not bad and quite refreshing. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - JUN 26, 2009
Golden slightly hazed, white small bubbly haed to a layer, laces slightly. Aromas throw graininess initially, a touch of fruitiness with faint florals, refreshing sweetness. Very kolsch-like, fresh. Initial is light bodied, a bit grainy and dry with light fruitiness, minimal hop presence, cereal graininess. Quenching, a good body for a kolsch overall. Finishes a bit lingering sweetness, mellow. 750 from Michigan gents @ DLD 09. Pours a foamy straw yellow with fluffy white head. Smells light, yeasty, slight fruit esters, and a tiny bit of acidity. Taste is light, creamy, crisp, refreshing. I’m not big on this style at all, but this is extremely well done and flavorful.

Bright and clear golden pour with spritzy white head...looks like a Kolsch. Bright clean appley aroma, grape notes, some fruity yeastiness. Flavors seem to follow the nose accurately enough...apples, fruity yeasty esters, big spritzy mouthfeel, some caramel malt sweetness, all deftly handled and light on the palate. Quite refreshing on a hot day. thehoff (598) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - DEC 25, 2008
Thank you beer distributor/representative at the Union. Wants me to have it on tap. OK for a Kolsch. Tried out of farmhouse bottle. I like the idea and the Belgian style presentation and that it is a Michigan beer. Tastes good. jeffwilliams11 (310) - hooterville, Michigan, USA - SEP 7, 2008
on tap at brewery...pours bright, clear straw color with minimal head. aroma is mildly malty, slight sulfur esters. flavor is similar, malty, yeasty, fruity as it warms up. very tasty, and one of the better kolschs i’ve had. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - MAY 31, 2008
750mL green bottle. Noses in sulfites, white grape fruit and some small grains. Otherwise kind of dead. Pours a crystalline gold. Flavor is a gentle kolsch. Actually well preserved. A wheaty barley mingle. Lightly sweet, but backed with some sugar. Soft. Bits of fusely alcohol. Rather calm. Dries out. Not that amazing. Maybe too carbonated and too soft. Not that flavorful, but not off. Not terrible or skunky. A pretty standard, subtle example. Thanks Sean! BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAR 29, 2008
750ml corked bottle and served in a pils glass: Clean golden hue with a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of grassy noble hops, pale biscuity malts, hint of apple ester, slightly husky as well. The taste is a clean moderate bitterness and soft grains. Light acidity and some pepper throughout. The mouth feel is refreshing and sprite with a mostly clean aftertaste. A nice surprise indeed and very much spot on for the style.
