Wässrig süßer Antrunk, wenig hopfig. Im Mittelteil wird das Bier leider nicht stärker, die pappige Süße steht nun fast alleine im Raum, hintergründig ist die Herbe gerade noch erkennbar. Der Abgang entspricht dem Mittelteil. 5/6/7/5/8/4

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a clear gold with an orange hue and a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a strong citrus peel note with quite a sweet grain backing. On tap at the Blues, Brews and BBQs festival in St. Joseph, MI. Poured hazy blonde with a thin off-white head and a toffee aroma. This is a very light tasting kolsch. It is refreshing and creamy, but with no sweetness and just a little hop bitterness.

12oz bottle, thanks to robotopera for sharing (he got it from Wine & Cheese in Manitou Beach. Pours a hazy orange gold color. Finger of off-white head. Kind of darker than your typical kolsch. Up front, I can tell it’s off. Kind of a soft, slightly stronger carbonation. Slight musty metallic flavor. Sort of tart taste. I’m thinking this is an old bottle with a brettanomyces infection. Mild breadiness, some citrus aroma, light peppery hop. This might have been a solid kolsch fresh, I’m sensing, but right now it’s kind of a weird mess. Not bad, but meh with the flaws. Golden slightly hazed, white small bubbly haed to a layer, laces slightly. Aromas throw graininess initially, a touch of fruitiness with faint florals, refreshing sweetness. Very kolsch-like, fresh. Initial is light bodied, a bit grainy and dry with light fruitiness, minimal hop presence, cereal graininess. Quenching, a good body for a kolsch overall. Finishes a bit lingering sweetness, mellow. 750ml corked bottle and served in a pils glass: Clean golden hue with a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The aroma has notes of grassy noble hops, pale biscuity malts, hint of apple ester, slightly husky as well. The taste is a clean moderate bitterness and soft grains. Light acidity and some pepper throughout. The mouth feel is refreshing and sprite with a mostly clean aftertaste. A nice surprise indeed and very much spot on for the style. Bottle: The aroma consists of light citrus/orange, faint grain, and a hint of grass. It pours a mostly transparent golden-orange with a touch of haze from some very fine sediment. It has a one finger yellow-tinged off-white head that settles fairly quickly to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. There is some thin webbing left behind on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate citrus notes. It finishes lightly grassy with a touch of floral notes. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Bottle courtesy of shawnm213. Pours copper with a thin off white head. Smells of earth, some sweet malt, dark fruit. Tastes of sweet caramel, some perfumy hints, earthy finish. Not a kolsch by any stretch of the imagination.
