2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Deep, deep brown color with dark ruby highlights... No head, even with a hard-pour, only a small, khaki tinted ring. Aroma has notes of creamy, sweet chocolate syrup, light roasted malt, & a bit of dark fruit-y tartness, almost like tart raspberry or red grape... Astringent. Thin mouth feel... Solid cocoa taste up front, milk chocolates, sweet & savory leading to ashy hops & mild roast in the finish. Loses the sour fruitiness from the aroma, but is a fairly bland one-trick pony in the end. Not bad, but forgettable.

The appearance was a moderately dark red almost brown color with a finger and a half’s worth of semi-tan foamy head that fell off at a decent pace. Moderate sticky yet stringy lace.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty grain up front flowing into some milk chocolate tones. Dark chocolate nibs subtly round out the edges.
The flavor had some roastiness up front trying to pull in the sweetness, but even that had a slightly hard time coming out in this section. Slight roasty aftertaste and finish.
The palate was about medium bodied, maybe just a touch under with a decent sessionability about it. Good carbonation and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good stout I could come back to.
Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear ark reddish brown brew with two fingers of tan head that settles down to one finger. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is cheesy vinegar-ish farmhouse notes, tart fruit, very faint toasted grain and chocolate. Taste is tart fruit and sweet malts up front transitioning to a watery sweet cocoa and malty middle. Ends with sour fruity and metal. Palate is thin. Maybe this is starting to spoil. Bottle is stamped 00217 for whatever that means - Jan 2, 2017 perhaps? Meh. bottle. Poured opaque brown with a mocha head. Sweet treacle aroma. Lighter than expected body, thin carbonation, slightly tart finish. Flavour of roasted malt, and again a sour note, some bitter chocolate. crossovert (14038) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 25, 2015
355ml bottle. A brown stout, low in body, light tartness, just a shitty milk stout. AlabastorJones (815) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 8, 2015
black body with red highlights, no head, slightly sour aroma / chocolate malts, flavor is overpowered by sourness - maybe this is just a really old bottle? There’s no decipherable date stamp, so who knows... I’ve got a feeling that this beer will be the cause of some gnarly gas tomorrow

Bottle. Pours a dark brown. Aroma and taste are sweet chocolate; a bit too much sweetness. tmoreau (4679) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUN 30, 2015
Shared 12 oz. bottle labeled with the yellow barn & red ribbon, poured to small snifters showing a black/brown color, with ruby highlighting, brownish tan head foam that reduced quickly to a ring & film, and light spots of lacing. The nose was cocoa, but also hints of Slim Jim, light soy, and a touch of cardboard. Light bodied, with fair carbonation, the flavor was more agreeable, with subtle roastiness & cocoa, mellowed by a touch of silkiness to the mouthfeel. A bit past it’s prime. tcon25 (958) - Duvall, Washington, USA - MAY 24, 2015
Bottle pour at home, Sent to me from Chicago by a friend. Black pour, no head. Roasted coco and coffee aroma, slight bitter taste, you taste a little chocolate in the finish. Solid stout enjoyed this one. Campy877 (189) - Michigan, USA - MAY 22, 2015
Bottle. Deep brown almost black with a deep brown head. Aroma is typical of a stout but the taste as the name suggests has great chocolate flavor. Good blend with coffee flavor making almost a milkshake taste.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with small beige head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is strong cocoa and chocolate. Thin mouth, light roast, strong cocoa, dark chocolate, bitter finish, very good.
