COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A tawny colored rye barrel aged old ale with aromas and flavors of vanilla, oak ,caramel, citrus, cocoa powder and warming alcohol. Carbonation is low to not take away from the residual sweetness. Enough initial bitterness and proper bottling allows for some cellaring at 55 F or lower. We do not recommend aging for more than 6 months. Heini was a dear friend of Steve’s while Steve was living in Germany many years ago. We raise a glass of good cheer in honor of Heini and his generous hospitality.

Bottle thanks to Dan. Pours a clear dark amber color with a small white head. A big fruity nose, cherry, some toffee as well. Dusty and dry at times, cocoa and toffee, a bit of robust cherries, some chocolate. Very flavorful. Not hot. Lovely beer. Has a lot to like.

Bomber bottle from neighbor Michele - thanks! Left it on the shelf from December to September and it still tasted fantastic. Creamily delicious, not to be missed.

This was sampled on the bus during RBSG 2016 in Pittsburgh, PA. This beer poured a dark brown with A beige head Nose of whiskey and dark ripe fruit. Full body and a smooth rich mouth feel. Flavor of roasted malts some vanilla, and the whiskey; Finishes with a bitterness that is just right Lot of balance here. Very good

Sampled at rbsg. Mid brown and clear. Looks like bourbon. Vanilla aroma with bourbon. Tast, too. Some complex too ripe fruit. Could be a barley wine. Earth and cherries late. Fairly hot.
