COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Humboldt Range Double IPA: Our second double IPA features New Zealand Green Bullet hops and USA Mosaic hops. Sweet peach, fruit cocktail aroma and flavor with a green/earthy tone. Modest bitterness. Some might say this beer has dank-like qualities, hence the reference to Humboldt. We lived in Humboldt County, CA while Steve was head brewer for Lost Coast Brewery in 2009 – 11 and we were in the Humboldt Mountain Range in New Zealand when we got engaged in 2004.

Enjoyed on tap at Roundabout Brewery in Pittsburgh, PA while on a recent tour, unfortunately didn’t have the chance to take tasting notes, but I remember this being absolutely fantastic. Hopefully I’ll have the chance to make it back to this brewery.

Cloudy golden orange color, good head so so lace. fairly bitter, lightly sweet flavor. Medium body, thick creamy mouthfeel, bitter dry sweet finish. Very nice DIPA. aroma best part, Imo.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a murky apricot color with a medium sized creamy orange-white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was tart and soru with pine, cactus, pineapple and grapefruit. The flavor was bitter yet sweet with a yeasty note and fairly strong notes of pine, cactus, pineapple, tequila and tropical fruit. Long finish with lingering cactus and pine. Moderately full bodied. Well done.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a super cloudy dirty orange with a thin white head. Aroma of tons of hop oils, stinky hops, sticky pine, sweet citrus, spicy malt. Flavor of sharp citrus and grapefruit, followed by pine and woody notes, caramel malts, then tropical fruits, mango, and citrus in the finish. Sharp hop bite too. Heavy for sure, but very flavorful and super hoppy. 8/4/8/4/16 (4.0/5)

This poured a hazy dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was of tons of tropical hops, lightly dank and resionous, mild booze and malt.sweetness. Flavor was just as juicy as the aroma, body soft but not watery, a tiny bit syrupy, but damn good.

Growler sample from alexsdad06. Poured cloudy dark amber color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex spruce and citrus hop aroma. Medium to abundant body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a standout brew.

32oz growler -- big thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing (and also thanks to Beerman6686 for running the FBW contest)! Almost entirely hazy bright, vibrant orange color. Decent off-white head, leaving some ropes of lace. Super-big hop aroma -- big citrus, tangerine, some papaya, tropical flavors, mango. Resiny. Hops dominate the start, middle, and finish.. And the finish is very long here, great long resiny tropical citrus hop aftertaste to savor. Bigger bitter taste. Kind of dry finish. Lighter to moderate sweet, and a fun bit of mild alcohol heat by the swallow. Bigger body. Lighter, kind of soft carbonation.. Pretty solid carbonation for a DIPA growler. Very satisfying, delicious and ultra-hoppy DIPA. Stands out with it’s tropical direction. Maybe I’m caught up in the hype that the first rater created, but I really loved this -- more so than my local friends did, it seemed.

Growler courtesy of Beerman6686 because I was lucky enough to win his contest. Pours a hazy golden color, not the best looking beer, with a small plus sized off white head. The aroma is nice, fruity, resiny, mild herbal hops, some tropical notes, pale malts. The flavor has big over ripe fruit, ttropical, citrus, some resin, hint of herbal hops, definitely a big sweet DIPA, mild bitterness, overall I like this, but would like a bit more bitterness.

Draft sample shared by alexsdad06 pours brownish orange with thin white head. Nose big hop, over ripe fruit, banana, mango, papaya and hint of grass. Taste fruity hop, similar to nose, some grapefruit bite. Very sweet in character. Mid palate light bitter continues through the finish with light grassy aftertaste . Overall sweet and syrupy, which I like in the doubles.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a cloudy peachy brownish orange with a white head. Aromas of mango, peach, grapefruit, tropical fruits, light grain, light alcohol. Taste is medium bitterness. Light grain aftertaste. One of the best beers I have had from roundabout. Awesome DIPA.
