COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A session IPA? It’s a hybrid between a pale ale and IPA. With the hop flavor and aroma of an IPA but the lower alcohol of a pale ale. The combination of New Zealand Motueka and U.S. Centennial hops in the whirlpool and fermenter give the Hy-PA a complex hoppy, citrus, passion fruit aroma and flavor.

Sampled on draft at the brewery this beer poured a murky yellow-gold color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left excellent lacing. The aroma was tart and citric with grapefruit and a touch of pine. The flavor was tart, bitter, thin and a bit astringent with notes of grapefruit and lemon. Long finish. Light and watery body. Disappointing.

Poured from growler. Cloudy, sparkling, golden color with a foamy near white head and very good lacing. Aroma of citrus, lemonade, floral hops, light fruit, grass, grain and pine. Taste of grass, floral hops, citrus, pine, grain and light fruit. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation. A full-flavored IPA, especially for a session beer. However, the flavor mix does not leave me wanting more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one poured a hazy dark yellow color with a white head. Aroma was lots of flowers, and citrus, mild grain too. Flavor was very floral, then with a rich orangy citrusy finish. Different hop profile but tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2013 Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head. Citrus hop aroma with some pine/floral notes too. White lacing down the glass. Effervescent and refreshing.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a thick foamy white head. Aroma of grassy hops, lemon, citrus, floral hops, fruity hops. Lots of fruity ester hops in the aroma. Flavor of the same fruity/floral hops up front with bready malt in the middle and a spicy hop finish. Light, hoppy, and citrusy IPA. This brewery is off to a good start! 8/4/7/4/14 [3.7/5]
