   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 15/20
FatPhil (14519) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - MAY 3, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 11, 2016 330ml bottle (Villi Waino, Helsinki) (7:4:6:4:15=3.6)
Non-clear pale orange, huge, rocky, even, tight persistent head. Soft sweetish aroma, some flower, some blossom, quite perfumey. Like a floral perfumed soap, but without the soap. Dry bitter hops come over later, spicy and almost peppery Great use of noble hops in the aroma whilst not being "big". Fruity retronasals, I swear I get pineapple without the sugar and grapefruit. Quite a simple taste. Fuck that lets talk about the finish - wow - what a finish! Hops coat every millimeter of my mouth, and give it a lovely tingly workout. My salivary glands are like hollywood fire hydrants during a car chase! Love that tingle. The attenuation is superb, so dry. Crisp, and attention-grabbing - you know youre drinking a good beer when youre drinking this. Back to tha taste, yes, behing the amazing hops, theres a nice caramelly malt sweetness. Back to the aroma, I even get a bit of ginger later. The whole thing comes together brilliantly, even if no particular component (by RB breakdown) is wowing. However, as it warms, the aroma comes alive a bit more. One of the best pilsners I have ever had.
Rerate: 330ml bottle - thanks Eija! (6:4:6:4-:13=3.3-)
Sweetish malty aroma, slight herbal leaf-vegetal aspects, not promising the attenuation from the first one. Bit soapy taste, less so later. Has none of the hops smack I really liked. Pleasantly bitter, but nothing like the prior bite. Still decent, but wheres the magic gone?

330 ml bottle. Villi Wäinö, Helsinki, Finland. Cloudy golden colour with a small white head. Grainy malt, some sweetness, mild floral hops and soap in the aroma. The flavour is nicely hopped. Grainy malt, grassy hops and moderate bitterness. Tasty. Good one from a real craft brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle 33 cl, BBE 25.07.2013. Pours golden in color with a creamy white head, which stays on as a cap for the entire time. Hay, notes of malts and a bit of something sweet almost honey-like notes in aroma. Bitter hops in taste at first, some yeasty notes as well in taste. Felt a bit harsh at first, but that was perhaps because I was expecting a bit more smoother and sweeter, buttery-like in taste kind of brew. On the other hand this is a quite tasty with lots of malts and a fairly bitter driven pils. Malty and grassy bitter notes in aftertaste.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Pikkulintu, 20130328) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized, long lasting and white. Aroma had grass, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, herbalness, grain, malts and bitterness. Afteraste was grassy and bitter. A good clean pils. Especially I liked the aftertaste the bitterness of which washed away the other flavours. The beer improved when I poured in the sediment from the bottle.
