Bottle. Slightly hazy amber brown color, off white head. Aroma of burnt caramel, dark fruit, booze. Taste starts sweet, mixed fruit, light funk, light bubblegum. Interesting. JStax (6356) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - MAR 4, 2016
12 ounce bottle poured into a snifter. The beer is a clear amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma is musty and earthy. I get some spicy character as well, kind of like rye. Musty and sweet taste. A solid burn on the back of the throat and through the finish. Big body and medium carbonation. Nejhleader (1550) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 5, 2016
a bit of a sweet candi malt, maybe some yeast. A good creamy body. Taste is a nice sweet candi sugar blended well with the malts. Pretty good stuff. NikkTwist (3191) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 9, 2014
Draft at Eulogy. Clear dark amber with a frothy head. Tastes like beer flavored gummy bears. A no-go from the get-go. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 7, 2013
Tap. Pours a clear dark copper with a small frothy white head that fell to a thin film. Lots of sticky lacing. The nose is quite malty and sweet with some candi sugar, dark fruits, light brown sugar, and a touch of floral hops. The flavor is thick and sweet with a fairly restrained alcohol level. The malt is clearly the focus here, but there is a light hoppiness to it as well. Finishes with dark fruits of plum and fig. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty nice, not overly sweet or hot for how big this beer is.

Had to give this one a try. I am NOT a fan of the Belgian beers, but I am a fan of Roy Pitz. This brew held true to form, big belgian flavor, big belgian yeast. Also stated big alcohol at 9%. I won’t try this one again but if you like the Belgians, you’ll like this one. mansquito (6328) - Nueva York, New York, USA - FEB 12, 2012
Barcade, Philadelphia 10oz ($6): Pours a amber color with a white head. Aroma is subdued. Belgian yeast and fruitiness are the main components. I found the beer to be a little disappointing. I suppose it had that small brewery that doesn’t specialize in Belgian beer taste... It was kind of sweet. Alcohol was well covered. Hops were mild. This was, however, merely ok. Draft at Lansdale Brewfest. Pours copper with minimal head. Nose was figgy plummy fruit, fusels, hops, malt. Tasted rich, complex, some heat, with a figgy fruit, yeasty ester and spice, and backup hops. I enjoyed this one. Leafs93 (2292) - Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 13, 2011
Tap at Smokin Betty’s. Pours amber with minimal white head. Aroma is candi sugar, yeast and dark fruit. Taste is sweet. Light mouthfeel.

On draft at Capones. Pours a deep caramel color with a medium sized frosty light beige head. Aroma of dark fruit, candied sugar and malt. Taste is much the same as the aroma. Peppery.
