This summertime lager is both smooth and refreshing as soon as it hits the lips. We take so much pride in it because there is truly nothing else like it on the market. We brew this American Style Lager beer with three types of malt: pilsner, pale and carafoam which enhance the head retention of this beer. We then gingerly scatter some very light floral hops at the beginning to give it some esters and sweetness that compliment the watermelon. The true magic of this beer does not occur in the brewing process but in the conditioning vessel. This is where we add the best farm fresh local watermelon and than push the beer into it, allowing it to sit and saturate for a few weeks. By the time it is complete, we are left with a unbelievably smooth tasting beer with a beautiful aroma and subtle taste of watermelon that imparts its way into this already crisp lager. Truly our customers' favorite, this one will have you reaching for another glass soon after you put the first one down.

Seasonal beers have a function and I am rating this strictly as a summer beer. Hop heads and lager detractors will never give this style a good rating but that is their issue and they are missing some very refreshing and tasty beers. Excellent base lager with a slight watermellon flavor that is subtle yet refreshing. When you are finished one on a warm day you will definately pine for another. Leave your prejudices behind and enjoy.

Wow - when this beer arrives it actually has a big sweet wedge of watermelon sticking right on the pint glass. I was secretly hoping this would be the case but did not disclose it to other members of my male gender. This fruit beer has a medium tan lager color and looks quite refreshing in comparison to thick, dark lambics. In the middle of August heat, this is the perfect refreshing beer to cool you down when you are heading from the church to the reception as you are boiling in your suit and tie. It tastes like a true, smooth, bottom-fermented lager with a slightly sweet, watermelon aftertaste. Even those beer fans who arent keen on lambics would truly enjoy one of these beers on a hot summer day.

Excellent beer for our a hot day. Crisp, watermelony and refreshing. Aroma is roasted corn with a slight watermelon hint. Taste is very even with just a hint of sweetness and watermelon. Did I say drinkable?

Draft at Market Cross: I was a little scared of the fruit - especially watermelon, but I thought it was refershing a crisp without being watermeloned to death. Had two pints and would likely order it wherever I go if it’s offered. New brewery with potential.

[Draft @ Capones] Poured a murky pink color with a small, pinkish white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of watermelon and toasted malts. Taste of sweeter watermelon, more toasty malts, grains, and a dry, crisp, clean finish. Really nice summertime brew, and the best watermelon beer i’ve had.

Pours a slight hazed pale golden with a minimal yet lasting white head. Aroma is crisp clean malts, light toast, light watermellon juice and rinds, earthy and grassy. Flavor is mostly clean, no harsh phenolics from the watermelon rinds or pulp, lightly juicy, floral, crisp clean malts, and easy drinking clean finish- nice summer beer. Id probably take this over 21st amendment hell or highwatermelon.

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2008 sampled at the brewery: pours a hazy orange color a shade darker than a hefe-weisee, head is two fingers when poured but then goes down to a thick film across the top. This is an interesting beer, like nothing Ive ever had. earthy, farm flavors emanate from the cloudy beer recalling a summer drive through the country. flavor is light base malt, lots of fresh watermelon, and a bit of sulfur. light in body. A beer that is worth a try re-rate: clean mallty light lager. dry, natural watermelon in the finish. sulfar has cleaned up, solid, interesting and creative.

On tap at Capones. Poured gold in color with a small beige ring of head. Aroma was of strong earthy watermelon. The aroma of watermelon In general I dont find very pleasant so I was a bit scared to try this. Tastes of watermelon and lager if you can imagine that. The taste is a little earthy, but fruity with watermelon. I found this quite refreshing and much better than I expected. New brewery stepping out of the box. Kudos.

12 oz bottle - camping, 7/3/16. Thought the watermellon worked pretty well here. Not overwhelming or anything. Pretty well balanced with the herbal, grassy, and bready flavors. Definitely leans sweet, but not in an unpleasant way as is the case with other similar beers. Smooth and clean. Doesnt get cloying or anything. Better than it needed to be.
