A beer for every occasion, with aromas of roasted caramel and toasted marshmallow hitting the nose from the three hand selected European barleys that carefully intertwine to create a bouquet of toasted caramel goodness. A light sprinkling of smooth traditional English and American Hops give the beer some real character and a pleasant floral fragrance. The light finish comes from the soft water we use from our local water supply which is untreated and unfiltered by the brewery. This beer was inspired by Chambersburg’s 1818 "Old Jail" that is one of the few structures to have survived the burning of Chambersburg by Confederate Forces in 1864. The jail also served as a stop on the Underground Railroad. These ingredients brought together provide a uniquely hand crafted brew. The flavor and body of a well formulated craft ale and the easy going finish of a pale lager. "For every beer drinker there is a specific beer, but this is a specifically designed beer for every beer drinker!"

Pours a nice light-caramel. Very flavorful with hints of brown sugar, roasted peanuts, and a nice thin hop backbone. Perfect session brew!

Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma is caramel, some slight roast and trace of hops. Taste is sweet with very faint bitters that manifested quickly and where quickly replaced by sweetness. Light bodied, crisp finish and overall decent.

boxofrane (2559) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 24, 2013
Bottle. Pours clean copper with a small white head. The aroma has light nuts, some maltiness. The taste is very nutty but has a weird aftertaste. Not a fan but not awful or anything.

callmemickey (4561) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Medium orange body, moderate sized white head, spotty lacing. Brady malts, mild orange-citric hops, some caramel and toffee. Flavor is intensely fruity and out of balance, no bitterness, weak malt presence. Mild infected sourness, light bodied, minimal carbonation, thin. Not good.

Bottle courtesy of Braudog. Thanks Matt! Amber pour with a short, foamy white head. Aroma is rather malty and sweet with soft caramel, toasted bread, light fruit and soft hops. Taste is caramel, sweet malt, berries, tart fruit and soft hops. Body is light-medium with a soft, bubbly carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, sweet malt, bread notes, tart fruit, berries and light hops.

Braudog (6900) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - AUG 5, 2012
Bottle. Pleasantly rollicking pour, ending with a crisp, fall-colored beer, the head surrendering almost completely. The aroma is also kinda fall-like, hinting at caramel and apple. This drinks with a toffee flourish up front, mellow all the way, and easy drinker in the traditional amber ale alley. (#4718, 8/5/2012)

Malty with a toasty flavor, some caramel, woodiness, earthy tastes. Not very hoppy, bitter, or floral. Rather full for the alcohol content.
