330 cc bottle from Club de Cervezas. Chill-served waiting for aromas to unfold with warming. Pours a very dark and opaque brown-mahogany color with a small gray-ish brown head that diminishes quickly but laces very well to the glass. Aroma has a notorious hoppy presence mixed up with dark malts and a charred character. Hop focused. It shows intense notes of toasted bread, rye, cedar, resin, pine, tobacco, tar and prunes. Some earthy touches. Quite balanced and complex. Probably dry hopped for that extra hop punch. Taste is nice. Roasted and bitter in equal amounts. The aftertaste remains bitter, overwhelming the roastiness. Zesty, resiny and astringent finish. Lots of character and much better as it warms. No sweetness to be felt. Creamy mouthfeel, medium to big body. It’s not really heavy. Low carbonation. Not quite yet on par with American monsters like Old Rasputin, but still a very fine yummy and hoppy Chilean Imperial Stout. AbouAli (195) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 27, 2015
Color : black. Big brown head with long lasting. Chocolate, toasty malt and some alcohol flavor. Excellent lacing. Aroma : toasty malt, alcohol, chocolate (very present), bitter and sweet. The final is alcohol and sugar with a good lasting. felipeesteban (3) - Copiapo, CHILE - JUL 1, 2013 does not count
Very good, poured a deep black with almost no head. Aroma is bitter with strong coffee presence and mild complexity. Flavor is very nice, strongly bitter but well balanced, huge coffee notes, and the alcohol is well blended. inkubuzz (15) - CHILE - DEC 18, 2012
Great beer. Didnt expect this. Full bodied. Coffee aroma with some hints of dark chocolate. Tastes of coffee, and some cocoa. Toasted. Very nice. Best chilean stout ive ever had. You can feel and taste the alcohol. Pours dark not black and with a big head. Maybe to big, but it might be the glass.
