Had at the MPLS 2012 Autumn Brew Review. The smell was very inviting so was quick to take a sip. A burst of flavor went thru my taste buds. I chugged it and asked for another sample. Wulfstan (509) - California, USA - OCT 2, 2009
This is an excellent IPA, almost a paradigmatic a West Coast US IPA in character but nicely balanced in body and bitterness-sweetness as with a British IPA.
Light orange, slightly hazy, it has a medium, off-white head that shrinks slowly shrinking. It leaves a little good lace.
The aroma is very West Coast but far better, than most with greater depth and complexity. Aromatic and flowery, it has fresh grapefruit, candied orange peel, caramelised grain, and a hint of resin.
The taste, very juicy, has slightly bitter orange marmalade throughout, along with subtle grapefruit, syrupy grape juice, toasted grain, preserved fruit, caramel, light leafy-spiciness. The bitterness is dominant but only just and underneath is a firm, fruity-jammy-malty-sweetness.

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2009 A light floral hop aroma. Flavor is mostly bittering hops, but they’re not too much that it’s totally dominated. Overall, pretty good stuff. J_man (996) - Tustin, California, USA - JUN 23, 2010
Golden orange with a thin but persistant white head. Nice pungent hop aroma. Nice creamy, toasty malt body that strikes a great balance with the astringent piney/grapefruity hops. This is a great example of a West Coast IPA before the time of "extreme" IPAs. Well made, well balanced and very drinkable while still delivering the hoppy goodness. Golden color. Great nose -- sweet and flowerylike fruit candy mixed with hops. Taste is similar, a good variety of floral hops ending with some bitterness. Not astringent or overwhelming at all.

UPDATED: APR 15, 2008 Re-rated. Light in color, almost golden even. Very classicly hoppy, citrusy and fruity, quite easy to drink. Much upgraded. xarcadia (44) - California, USA - NOV 19, 2007
Strong floral hoppy aroma. Delicious fruity taste, not too hoppy for an IPA. Some other complex notes on the taste that I can’t quite name. Nebulor (109) - , California, USA - FEB 11, 2009
Pours an off copper color, kind of yellowish, some haziness and some carbonation action.
Smells great like sweet pine and caramel.
Taste is grapefruity and crisp with caramel malt.
Medium bodied with crisp soft carbonation and an alcohol sensation.
Very drinkable for Hopheads, better on tap at their Brewpub. mrhoppy (1288) - Santa Clara, California, USA - MAY 15, 2009
I have had his beer before in a bottle and on tap and I think it tasted better. As an IPA it is good and if you lived near this brewery you would be lucky. I would buy again. Nice beer. Chickencoop (188) - California, USA - AUG 9, 2010
One of the worst habits this site has created is trading beer. Your always out there trading what we have local for some highly touted beer from out east, and you forget about the beers that we have daily available in our local stores. This is one of those beer. If this was from Iowa, i would tell everybody about this beer, and they need to get it, but it’s not, it’s lost in the mish-mash of the slammed IPA market of the west coast. This is right up my alley with big piney hops throughout, clean dry finish. One of the better, everyman IPA’s i’ve had in some time.
