Poured into an imperial pint glass. Beautiful finger and half of off-white head on a dark red colored body.
The aroma is nice but faint. Caramel and dry barley.
The taste heavy on the malt but not too sweet. There’s a little hit of lemon bitter in the middle. It finishing long and dry.
The texture is thicker with low carbonation.
Very enjoyable. krumbum (1109) - truckee, California, USA - AUG 31, 2013

A - filtered deep copper red with 1" head. Good lacing
S-floral on the nose, with faint cloves and autumn spices. Floral quality followed by rooty vegetable. Mild honey and brown sugar too. Slight astringent and alcohol.
T-floral and malty. Mild ending with subtle malty finish that lingers as it diminishes smoothly. Middle is malts and pine with vivid alcohol base.

Bottle via Jason + Elizabeth. Pours a medium brown color, off white head. Nose is big, caramel and candi sugar, raisins, and just a hint of the rye. Body is medium, surprising in its lack of malt. Finish slightly tart. Very interesting, can’t complain. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - DEC 1, 2012
22oz bomber pours amber with a quarter inch tan head of foam. The aroma has a bit of roasted malts and malt earthiness and then some mild spicy to floral to earthy hop notes. The taste is pretty rich with modestly roasted malts and then a mix of spicy hops, earthy hops and a mineral note. To midway the roasted malts grow a bit and pick up a sliver of floral hops into the finish. This has big flavor that comes together pretty darn well.

Copper pour, off white head. Aroma of hops, caramel malt, kinda plain. Flavor is hoppy, resin, caramel. EHouse (170) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 19, 2012
Pours a deep ruby red with a ft dollop of cloudy white. Aroma is subtle yet complex blend of toasted bread crust, rich caramel, peppery rye, and citrus (lemon zest?). Big, smooth and balanced with flavors of roasty malt, sweet caramel, some light fruitiness (blackberry?) and lemon peel. Finish is smooth with a slight bitterness that lingers pleasantly. Give me some blue cheese! BeerandBlues2 (13365) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 9, 2012
Tap. Pours clear dark amber with a medium, frothy tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel and cookie malt, sweet candied dry fruit, and dank hops. Flavor is malt dominant with medium hops and bitterness, dried fruity esters and a sweet finish. Medium body and carbonation. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - AUG 22, 2012
On draft at Tap 25. It pours a dark reddish copper color with a thin orange head. The aroma has some light notes of syrup and molasses with some fruit and a touch of hops. The flavor has a good balance of tropical fruity hop and some dense syrupy molasses like malt. A little spicy hop near the finish. Sublym (78) - Arizona, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Ok, my bottle says 7.5 abv not 9.2 but ok, this poured a dark amber color with a thick, rether large foamy head , the aroma was that or a typical amber or red beer except with a hint of hop bitterness. Im not a huge fan of reds and ambers but some hybrids such as this are infusing more hops into the beer which is good news for me. If not for the hop addition I might not care for this beer, its good, id drink it anytime, but it might not be up there on my top lists. Reminds me of tenya breweries red ryder but not quite as good. Bonus points for putting a skull on the bottle.
