UPDATED: AUG 8, 2017 Rudgate Ruby Mild, 4.4% - on tap at the GBBF at Kennington Olympia, 2017. Dark ruby colour. Fruity, winey aroma of raspberry and strawberry. First taste is slightly hoppy, slightly sourishly fruity. Malty and medium bitter middle and roasted notes. Some spicy hops, fruit and raisins in the finish. Well, it’s a mild. At the Moon under the Water in Watford. The beer pours a clear dark mahogany with a rich tan head. The smell is earthy toasted malt, dull sweetness. The taste is earthy toasted malt, some brown sugar, dry and slightly fruity ending. The body is light+ and grainy with mild carbonation. Nice...

A dark reddish brown colour with a small off white head that quickly dissipated. Rich fruity malt aroma, ripe plum and vanilla essence. Quite sweet, malty and a plum ripe fruit flavours. A light dry finish. Nice!

Cask Pint at Edward Rayne (JDW), Raynes Park, London in May 2014 - Ruby/Dark Brown in colour. Malty; roasty malts, caramel. Fruity; dry fruits. Hoppy; light grassy hops . Sweet malty fruity leading to a dry mildly bitter finish. Drinkable. Not bad at all, but rather a surprising Champion Beer. (2014-05-13)

Raisin-filled scones, nut bread and dark cherries move into herbal bitterness in this impressive Dark Mild.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam covers the dark red-tinged brown.
-Malts, sugars and yeast profile combine for a tantalizing nose.
-Mouthfeel is healthy; not too lean, not too heavy.
-This is not the type of brew we see very often in North America.
-This must be even lovelier on cask.
