Scopey (16227) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2015
Cask at WHOAF 2015. It pours deep ruby with a small beige head. The nose is sweet, oily, sticky, boiled sweets, jammy berry, cola cubes, cola ice pole, fruit cake, wood, earth and plum skin. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, toasty, earthy, dried fruits, jammy berry, wood, sponge and a touch of charred wood with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Smooth and easy-going. Decent depth for the style. Not too shabby.

Hippoman (646) - Durham, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2015
Cask at The Waterhouse (JDW), Durham, £2.05/pint. Pours deep, reddish brown with lasting, creamy head. Damp, earthy aroma leads to some malty, cereal, caramel and hay flavour with light smokiness. A little thin on the palate and on the whole a simple, effective beer.

jjsint (3604) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 18, 2015
Cask handpull at the Flying Pig, Cambridge. Mid- to dark brown with a reddish tinge. Woodsmoke, milky coffee, cinnamon and red currant aroma. Sweet taste with a slight bitter, almost astringent edge. A bit muddly but good overall.

themightylazza (108) - - AUG 22, 2015
Dark ruby mild, a quite pleasant nutty, fruitcake aroma. Dark fruit flavour, hintof soy sauce, a dry, lightly hopped finish. A decent stab at a ruby ale froma decent brewery, but lack of carbonation and lack of depth means a fairly average score only.
