On cask this was an 8/10 -richly bready, sweet, nutty, smooth, nourishing. From a bottle it?s a 3/10 - thin, acrid, harsh like fruit skin. Milds and pasteurised bottling are not happy bedfellows.

On tap. Mid brown with reddish hues. Loose bubbly foam head. Aroma some roasted malt.and toffee. Taste is light bitter with definite chocolate presence. Palate is quite thin. Not a bad mild.

Benzai (15458) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 20, 2014
Sampled @ GBBF day 3. Brown color with a nice red glare coming through, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly leaves, lightly caramel and lightly bitter. Average body and carbonation.

Z pompy, One Eyed Rat, Ripon. Kolor ciemnobrunatny, klarowne. Piana lekko przyciemniona, bardzo gesta i kremowa, zostawia gruba warstwe i bardzo mocno oblepia szklo. W aromacie karmel, kawa, czekolada, toffi, orzechy, bardzo intensywne melanoidyny, minimalny piernik, migdaly i dym. W smaku wlasciwie to samo, jednak mniej intensywne niz w aromacie, lekko kwaskowate, minimalnie alkoholowe. W odczuciu gladkie, kremowe, ale jednak troche zbyt wytrawne. Goryczki brak. Wysycenie niskie, ledwie wyczuwalne.

Cask at Kings Tun JDW. Dark orange / brown, big bubbly tan head. Aroma - musty malts, molasses, smoke, sugars. Body is medium, touch of carbonation. Taste is sweet caramel up front, then almond, some astringent chemically hops, finishes with a soft smokey bitterness and a bit of booze. Interesting, easy drinking.

MissPxx (970) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 14, 2014
Mild taste. Gorgeous chocolatey tasting but thin and hoppy on the tongue. Hardly any head. Deep ruby red black ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Gravity dispense at the 15th Kingston BF, 16/05/14. God this thing gets wheeled out for just about every BF going but stil not got round to rating it despite having first had it over 10 years ago! Extremely dark mahogany brown with a big bubbly light tan covering. Nose is toffee, biscuit, dark fruit pangs, toffee apple, hint of spice. Taste comprises dark malts, light roast, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough mild.
