Hand pump @ The Bankers Draft, Sheffield. Hazy darker brown coloured beer, no carbonation and a very small light creamy brown head. Stronger herby malty light roasted aroma with some wintery alcoholic herbs comming trough. Full creamy light herby palate. FInish is stronger malty bitter with an almost unpleasant bitter aftertaste. Medium.

Dark amber, thin off white head; sweet, malty taste, with cereal and brown bread; moderately bitter finish; decent enough mild.

ManVsBeer (10464) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - FEB 9, 2013
Very dark red ruby in colour, no head. Not much aroma, just a slight sweetness, but its more sweet in taste with the smallest of roasted malts too.

richc (239) - Bolton, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2013
Pours redish brown with a thin head. Aroma of caramel with toasted nuts perhaps and may be a touch of toastiness. Flavour is a rich and welcoming mix of maltiness with a nicely balanced bitter finish

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2017 Pint at the Cross Keys in York. Dark red with a long lived creamy head. Pleasant, light mild aroma. Bitter, sweet, with hints of raisin. Not bad, not great. Grows on you though.

Cask by handpump at Drum & Monkey, Glasgow - clear dark red brown, good tan head, roasted malt aroma and flavour, quite sweet, smooth, oily feel

AshtonMcCobb (6604) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 20, 2012
On tap @ the Haymarket Bar, Pours opaque black with ruby tints and a nice head. The nose is of liquorice and smoke. The taste is more of the same. The palate is medium bodied and textured with an elegant clean finish. Overall, great.
