Cask at the GBBF 2009. An appropriate beer for my 100th rating with it being the Champion beer at the festival this year. It’s a nice dark red beer with oak and wood chip aroma with maybe a touch of dark fruits in the background. Nice full palate and overall very well balanced. Cask at GBBF ’09, dark brown with a large yellowish head. Just a light nose that has touches of caramal. A big mouthfeel, lots of malt with some coffee, some chocolate, and some smokiness. Impressively complex for a Mild. It is obviously in good form. I love it. Don2711 (494) - - APR 2, 2016

Now this is one of my fav milds. It is, however, a bit difficult to rate in the sence that there is nothing special to it. Just very well balanced tastes of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and a hint of hops and vineous sourness. This is a case of the sum is far more than its parts. A top notch session mild. If I were to rate this on a scale 1-5 overall impression only it would certainly become a 5.
On Cask at the Blue Bell in York. Cocoa and cherry aroma. Mahogany red with tan head. Dark chocolate flavor with a hint of cherry and a dry finish.

Cask at Reading Beer Festival. Dark ruby in colour. Really malty nose, with roast malts and dark fruits in mouth. Dark rich malt fruit on finish which is dry. Fluxing (561) - POLAND - AUG 3, 2014
Z pompy, One Eyed Rat, Ripon. Kolor ciemnobrunatny, klarowne. Piana lekko przyciemniona, bardzo gesta i kremowa, zostawia gruba warstwe i bardzo mocno oblepia szklo. W aromacie karmel, kawa, czekolada, toffi, orzechy, bardzo intensywne melanoidyny, minimalny piernik, migdaly i dym. W smaku wlasciwie to samo, jednak mniej intensywne niz w aromacie, lekko kwaskowate, minimalnie alkoholowe. W odczuciu gladkie, kremowe, ale jednak troche zbyt wytrawne. Goryczki brak. Wysycenie niskie, ledwie wyczuwalne.
