Frothy beige head soon left a good cover on a chestnut coloured, finely carbonated body.
Minimal aroma of malt & spicy fruit.
Medium bodied, well carbonated but smooth on the back - very lacking in body on the aft.
Sweet malty tastes with plenty of spiciness, dark fruity berries, tangy on the back & slightly peppery finish. ManVsBeer (11959) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 15, 2016

avion, aldridge. Dark chestnut beer with small head and decent lacing. Aroma of malts. Taste is malts, a hint of smoke and burnt caramel. Decent enough.
Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW), Bedford. 4.8% ABV. Translucent ruby brown, respectable amount of beige head. Light fruity chestnut aroma. Fantastic taste: sweet, with berries, figs and nutty malt in the finish. Light palette. Fair play to Rudgate, this is a ruddy good Christmas ale. tdtm82 (1702) - Essex, ENGLAND - DEC 27, 2014
Cask. 27th December, JDW spoons, Chelmsford. Standard bitter appeaeance. Glowing red and brown with white lacing. Aroma is very subtle. Dough, hey, grass, some butterscotch and toffee. Taste is chestnuts, roasted malts, wood, raisins, Wild berry. Astringency and not a fan of the yeast. Very watery and a pretty average bitter. Well made but really nothing to write home RichTheVillan (8748) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2014
