Backlog rating. Cask at JDW WIQ, London. It pours a clean golden color with a small white head. Aroma is semi-sweet malty biscuity with notes of lemon, custard, biscuit. Taste is also medium sweet and malty with more notes of biscuit, bready malts and straw. Light bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, meh

Golden ale. Bittersweet. Zesty hops, cereal, honey. Very slight hint of soap. A good session ale.

Cask HP at The Crosse Keys. Dark golden yellow, still, clear, small foamy beige head. Aroma is elderflower, apple, sugars, touch of soap. Body is light and smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is straw, apple peel, a bit astringent with more soap, simple sugars. Plain, basic. Not a huge fan.

Cask at the Crosse Keys (JDW), City of London. Bright amber with a ring of cream head; grainy aroma; smooth, with a medium body and a sour grain taste; then a sharp grassy bitterness, and a pleasantly tart finish.

Towey1989 (2005) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 9, 2016
Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear deep golden colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of melon, some blackcurrant, slight toffee, a little bready malt and subtle floral hops. Taste of melon, slight blackcurrant, a little perfume, a hint of bready malt and subtle floral hops. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. A lingering, dry, floral hop bitterness in the finish. Some fruit and malt balance but its got a big bitter finish, maybe too bitter for it style. Had better from Rudgate.

Starts sweet with fruity flavours and aroma. Refreshing and pleasant to drink with reasonable strength. All in all will drink again.

Cask. Aroma soft fruit and malt. Color amber. Lace top. Malty toffee notes with a pleasant fruity languor. Better than expected (but then my expectations were low). A York beer. I wonder if its production will be flood affected?

Cask conditioned at The Tap & Spile, York. Gold with white head. Malty light ale with hints of bitterness and a light sharpness. Just a little dull unfortunately.

[York Beer Festival, 2014] - Rudgate Brewery Volsung, 5%, hellorange klar. Kaum Schaum. Mild-sliches Aroma nach Mirabellen, etwas floral. Noch etwas wssrig, mittleres Mundgefhl. Floral im Antrunk, leichte Honignote, unbestimmte Orangenfrucht. Etwas seifig. Daumen runter.

On cask at Boot & Shoe, Barkston Ash. Pours amber with off white head. Quite a bitter ESB with a nice hop astringency. Shame it dies on its arse.
