Bitter 500ml chilled and poured at home. Small brown head that disappeared instantly leaving not a great looking drink; lovely sweet, malty chocolate nose; some roasty tones with hints of vanilla; heavy bitter taste which gave way to a chocolate palate and dry bitter finish. A tad too much bitterness - could do with more balance. deanso (10070) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - SEP 8, 2016

Black, malty, bit syrupy bready, dark chocolate, cocoa nibsy, some stale coffee, daek rum on nose. Med bodied, some burnt rubber, bit oily miuthfeel. Finishes a bit dusty.
(Cask at Gallows Bird, 20160116) The beer poured black. Its head was small, sparse and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, chocolate, earth and bitterness. Afteraste had chocolate, burnt malts and bitterness. Not bad brew but a bit too harsh. Nice chocolate finish. Finn (7513) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 4, 2015
Fra cask på Hop & Vine Hull 26 Nov 15. Svart. Lavt, litt farget skum. Teppelacing. Svak aroma av røyk & røstet malt. Litt sjokolade. Tørr avslutning. Blir i søtligste laget. Alexi91 (437) - Bristol/Romsey, Hampshire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2015
Origin: Bottle. Vessel: Snifter. Supplier: Corks Of Cotham (Bristol). Nose is sweet with hints of berry. Pours a murky black with little head. Taste quickly focuses into burnt wood. Comparatively thin body. A good winter beer for a cold night. ianwelby (1369) - SCOTLAND - AUG 13, 2015
Black beer with a decent beige head. Aroma and taste are both mild chocolate and malt, and the flavour adds a whack of hop to. Quite light for a chocolate stout but very drinkable all the same. redders1974 (1403) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2015
Nicely done stout quite dry chocolate there but not in your face some roastiness and well balanced bottle at home slightly thin body
