Leighton (22307) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2013
Cask at the Coal Hole, Nicholson’s - Covent Garden, London. Honestly, this is a pretty mediocre golden ale. Some tangy lemon character, a bit of dried pale malts, perhaps some touches of cleaning agents. Maybe the beer was not in tip-top shape at ye olde Coal Hole, but as it was I was not impressed.

ManVsBeer (10953) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2013
Cask @ Adelphi, Leeds. Golden with a creamy head. Has a tropical fruit aroma and taste but more bitter and blander in the latter respect.

BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - DEC 5, 2013
Hand-pulled half-pint in ’Chequers’ Oxford during a pub crawl on 23rd Nov 13. This is a subjective rate/review, can’t be objective anymore with this type of UK beer. Everything I dislike about some of the UK brewers currently: so many are producing citrus tasting, low alcohol light golden beers it’s beyond a joke. This is typical of the style. The trouble is everybody else (well almost everybody) likes them. Rudgate are majoring on the popularity and bringing out about four differently named beers per month all of which are very, very samey in looks, aroma and taste. I didn’t buy this, it wasn’t my round: the bloke that did got a bollicking off me, especially as he knew my thoughts on these beers! I can’t knock the looks to greatly, it was golden, bright and clear, almost lager like in fact, it’s just the smell and flavour I’m fed up with.

Cask conditioned handpump Feathers London 08/11/13. A golden coloured beer with a white head and lace. As it says. Zesty. Hoppy notes throughout. Good citrus fruits. Easy to drink and well balanced. Tasty.

JorgeLee (2235) - Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 3, 2013
Cask at the Garden Gate NW3. Light golden colour, white head. Quite a bitter golden ale, citrusy fruit, some hay, a little sherbety, a little yeasty, grainy, long finsh. A nice pint.
