Nice wine-like aroma with floral and fruit tones in the aroma. Beautiful dark color, nice head. Deep complex taste. Good. Had on tap in the town where brewed. Very fresh. Who knows if it travels well. Kita (2146) - Koper, SLOVENIA - NOV 6, 2014
Bottle, 0.33l, courtesy of Yoo. Hazy almost black color with medium frothy light brown head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, nuts, mildly roasted malt, herbs and honey. Taste starts with sweet caramel, following is grassy and herbal with mild roasted note, spicy mouthfeel and moderate but unpleasant bitter finish. Light to medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Sweet and rather weak herbal brew... JorgeLee (2110) - Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 9, 2012
Sampled in a sip from Lakshmi’s beer, in a restaurant in Lautenbrunnen. Good dark colour, quite carbonated, thin off-white head. Malty aroma, rye bread, biscuits, malt, some slightly earthy hop in the finish. A good dunkel. rmussman (1701) - California, USA - MAR 5, 2007
Much better than the premium lager. It pours nicely into a proper chilled glass and has a dark brown appearance. It leaves a nice frothy head on top. Beer goes down smooth and flavors are packed full of hops and spices. Worth a try. bitter (1136) - Henderson, Nevada, USA - SEP 1, 2004
draft in interlaken, switzerland: man forget the beer this is the most beautiful country ive seen. lets go reinact the sound of music....this was an average dunkel. typical dark brown looks with lots of choc malt flavor. a bit thin on the palate.

I remember this as heavy and almost sweet, with heavy grain notes. But a wonderful round at the end of a day of backpacking. Had this in the town it was brewed, Interlaken. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - NOV 23, 2005
I was hopeing to finds something special for rating #100, but this was the best interlakkan had to offer, and it was great after a long day of hiking in the alps, but nothing special. From the tap. Poured a dark brown with a thick beige head. Aroma and flavor was slighly sweet and roasty. thin in the mouth and finished dry. Probably the best beer you will find in the Berner Oberland, but who cares about beer when you are in one of the most buetiful places in the world? 500 mL draft on tap at Brasseri 17 in Interlaken on 5/26. Brown pour, amber/red around the edges. 1 finger off-white head left some considerable lacing down the side of my glass. Aroma wasn"t very prominent - just lightly malty. Lightly grainy, sweet caramel malt flavor. Just a hint of hops in a semi-dry finish. A bit over-carbonated. Decent beer that would be easy to drink a few of. mmargarucci (343) - Basel, SWITZERLAND - MAR 7, 2015
