One of our favorite styles, this ale is a hop explosion. Light in color, heavily hopped in the kettle as well as conditioned with several unique hop varieties. This creates a beautiful floral/citrusy nose which is balanced well by a smooth and full finish.

On tap at Orchids. Not a lot of aroma, but the taste makes up for it. Nice lingering bitterness. Goes well with spicy Chinese food.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of bread and light lemon zest. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, earthiness and light citrus with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottle - one of many over the years. I have to disagree with many of the other reviewers. As an IPA drinker that was weened on the best of what the west coast had to offer I find this a well-constructed and exciting IPA that I always look forward to. WI is not a state known for its IPAs but this stands out. It pours hazy golden- bottle conditioned? - nose is orange peel and just a touch of passionfruit and mango, some light yeast notes like fresh bread. Flavor is textured barely cereal supplemented by creamy mouthfeel, some citrus at the sides and at the end. Finishes long on a citrus peel note with a pleasant bitterness that brings back all of the goodness that transpired from nose to quaff. I much prefer this to almost every MN IPA - Hop Dish and Bent Paddle excluded - and would even class it close to some of my MI favorites.

Yellow. Grassy nose, astringent front to the flavor, immediately not pleasing or balanced. Long bitter finish. Not to my liking. (at Ale Jail Anniversary Party 2014)

A hazy yellow beer with a soapy white head. The aroma is grass, lemon, and funk. The flavor is citrus, floral, and fairly bitter.

Hazy orange amber color with a thick, bright white head. Aroma is reminiscent of candied grapefruit and sourdough. Flavor is crisp citrus bitterness with a little bit of malt at the end. Full bodied and creamy on the palate

Draught at Toppling Goliath. IPA/Double in malt alcohol aroma. Low hop aroma and taste. Decent.

Bottle shared by Eric. Aroma is bitter grass, some citrus, and caramel malt. Pours light amber with a small white head. Taste is bitter grass, some garden weeds, and a stale biscuit malt. Mouthfeel was bitter and dry despite all the malt taste. All in all, this had the makings of an inbalanced and old IPA.

bottle @ Johns Grocery / Iowa City IA --- Hazy golden amber color, full 1" white head that stays around, short streaks of lace. Taste is edgy malt that adds strong floral hops in the palate - hops extend to a lingering finish. Very dry, very thirst quenching, very good.

Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. No bottle date. Pours an orangey copper with a white head and a ton of floaties. Crud! Was a bit concerned about age, and was likely right. Aroma has a nice blend of fresh fruit, citrus and pine, led well by the fruit. Taste is of either dead hops or a real muddle of weak pine, some grapefruit and some pineapple. Little malt presence in this one. Light to medium bodied. Finishes fruity sweet and citrusy bitter, in a solid mix. This one was all over the place. Hoping just old, because it could be pretty good if so. Otherwise strange that the nose and finish would be so solid and the rest just blah. 13.4
