COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our favorite styles, this ale is a hop explosion. Light in color, heavily hopped in the kettle as well as conditioned with several unique hop varieties. This creates a beautiful floral/citrusy nose which is balanced well by a smooth and full finish.

I could smell very little aroma of hops. It has a clear amber golden color. I felt that the hops were too subtle in flavor, but what was there was not very pleasing to the palate. For an American IPA, I want some more hop flavor.

Bottle from skinnyguy. Pours an almost pilsnerish yellow/orange color with almost no head. Soapy citrusy aroma. Nice hop profile here a little different than what I am used to but decent for a straight IPA. Grassy at first with some green apple mid palate and a nicely grapefruit bitter finish. Malt profile shows itself mid palate with some good body and caramel flavors.

ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 22, 2009
Draught at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy golden colour with a rich dense white foam. Crispy notes of lemon-zest with mellow undertones of straw, oranges and soap. Medium-bodied with notes of grapefruit, lemon-zest and straw. Medium-bitter finish of grass. Not bad, a rather crisp but still a subtle example with plenty of lemon-zest.

Courtesy Beerlando, I think. Slightly cloudy straw color, thin broken white head. Spicy phenols, moderate hop aroma, but light overall for an IPA. Pretty mild hop taste, more grassy in character. Just ok.

A resinous pine-forward IPA with a pronounced sugary-sweet backside. Not a quaffer because it leaves a residual sweetness in your mouth instead of an inviting dryness.

Pretty straightforward. On the sweetish side for an IPA. Decent pine hop flavor, slight resin character. Good not great.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2009 TAP: at Bulldog Lowertown (St. Paul, MN) on 1.25.09. Pours a hazy yellow/gold with a small head. Caramel on the nose, and a taste of malt, grain/bread, caramel, some citrus, and muted hops. Lemon forward on taste. Awesome flavorful IPA for those who don’t like their beers overly hopped up. CASK: also had this on cask.

tedovertu (297) - Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA - JAN 25, 2009
Medium orange color with large particles floating. A watery IPA with an average flavor. Not much bite for an IPA. Excellent appearance and lacing. Nice muted pine and orange hop flavor with a little dryness on the back end. Definitely no Two Hearted Ale but is an average IPA.

Tap at barcade - this was one of the better beers of the night for me - poured nice and hazy - the aroma and flavor were both full of fresh, pine/citrus hop tanginess/bitterness - grapefruit pulp and a lot of orange flavor - sure, some flaws manifested as it warmed, but I made sure to drink it fast, because those hops sure were tasty.
