Near black with a tan head. Sweet chocolate, malty nutty aroma. Medium sweetness to accompany the smooth creamy texture. Medium towards heavy bodied. Delicious.

Great looking beer...Very dark red color, almost pitch black, lots of floating sediment and tall foamy brown head. Aromatic roasted chocolate malt aroma. Taste is rich, roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee. Tastes a lot like the super-dark 60% cacao Geridelli chocolates that my mother-in-law always has on hand. Good bittering hops on the tail end. Just an overall excellent stout. Big, rich, complex, drinkable. Maybe the best stout Ive had.

Black with tan head. Roast, licorice, mild alcohol, chocolate aroma and flavor. Full bodied, syrupy, and alcohol-malt roast finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ive been hoping for so much more from this brewery... But they have yet to release anything that really wows me. This is not an exception, sadly.

Pours a nice thick, black with little to no head. Chocolate and roasted malt flavors. Nice sweetish aftertaste, Like this one.

On tap at Eds Bar in Winona, MN. Pour was dark with a creamy light tan head. Aroma was of light chocolate, light roast, caramel, and oats. Flavor was well blended with chocolate, roast, and a creamy mouth feel. This was a real nice oatmeal stout. I was impressed.

Pours very dark with decent brown head that fades quickly and not much lacing. Aroma is sweet lactose that is pretty restrained overall and has only a hint of roast to it. Taste is much more sweet than stout - which is fine. Then, a little bit of dark malts and just another hint of roast. Not really any coffee. Palate is noticeably carbonated with a pretty thin, hollow, watery finish - the beers only obvious flaw. Still, if this is truly 8%, its masked well, and goes down easy.

Pours a silky black color with very little carbonation. Rich robust aromas and toasted malts. A much lighter stout on the tongue. Thin in texture, lots of oatmeal grain but more cocoa than chocolate flavors. Finishes very chalky on the taste buds. Quite interesting to say the least.

Tap at WA Frost. Dark brownish red color, medium wispy espresso head. Flavor is chocolate malts, oats, vanilla beans. Soft and easy drinking, medium bodied. This is a solid session beer once again from Rush River.
