12 oz single bottle from Hy Vee Wine & Spirits - Council Bluffs (Madison Ave). Deep brown and clear appearance with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light smoke, earth, cocoa and a touch of oak. Similar flavor, adding light licorice and a hint of molasses. Medium body. A solid stout overall.

JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - MAY 6, 2016
Brown liquid with a tall tan head that dissipates to a thin lid. Cocoa, grains and light roasted scents. Smooth, but a bit lifeless feeling. Light sweet start, with a touch of roasted malt. Mild herbal hops and bitterness in the middle. Finish is slightly acidic (catching some black malt). Feels warming, but not tasting the alcohol. Dare I say a strong Guinness. 10/12

Tap at lake and Irving. Black with small white head. Roasted grain nose. Chocolate, malt, light medium body. Easy to drink for this style. Pretty good.

Lemke10 (993) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2016
Pours a silky black color with very little carbonation. Rich robust aromas and toasted malts. A much lighter stout on the tongue. Thin in texture, lots of oatmeal grain but more cocoa than chocolate flavors. Finishes very chalky on the taste buds. Quite interesting to say the least.

3.2
Stine (1795) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 6, 2016
Charcoal black with tanned marshmallow, yellow tinted tan foam. Early aroma mostly frozen raspberries. Warmth brings the richer layers of graham cracker crust and cocoa, but the icy, hollow fruit sweetness remains prevalent. There’s a trebly, tangy sensation to these fruit suggestions, of black cherry, blood orange, mixed berry, lacking depth. Later on a little singe of alcohol.

Flavor is composed, but somewhat tepid; quiet chocolate and black cherry fruit, very low char or tannin, no seductive factor here. Instant coffee bitterness nearing the end. Creamy body, soft carbonation, decievingly lightweight. Mouth coating caramelized sugar and cocoa after swallowing. As a hint of rotting banana starts to color the aroma, the blend of sensations proves to be poorly integrated.

No more than a hint of chocolate, but this is a drinkable stout more than a dessert beer. Very nice mouthfeel, smooth and silky. Rich aftertaste.

Bacterial (3040) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JUL 15, 2015
Dark brown pour, but certainly not thick. Tan head. Roasted malt nose with a hint of chocolate. Medium-light mouthfeel. Malty, sweet with a hint of chocolate in the taste.

wlajwl (7012) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Aroma is dark malts/malts, fruit and a hint of spring water. The flavor is dark/lightly roasted malts, fruit, mild dark fruit, a hint of chocolate and an acidic/tart/very slight heat in the finish.
