Bottle courtesy of tytoanderso. Pours a hazy copper with a small white head. Smells earthy and crisp. Tastes of light citrus, crisp malt, some bitterness on the finish. Ughsmash (7502) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 1, 2008
Bottled in June, week 3. Poured slightly hazy medium orange with a dusting of white head. The aroma picked up quasi-sweet banana and bubblegum esters upfront with a pale malt backing.. spices were light and peppery, and smelled refreshing. The flavor was sweeter than I like in my hefes, but still alright.. bubblegum and bready notes at the core laced with lemon zest and spicy pepper.. finished spicier. Lighter-bodied and crisp on the palate, just a tad too sweet. BeerBelcher (972) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 6, 2008
Huh, didn’t find too much to love or object to in this beer. I didn’t get that it was a wheat beer, but I didn’t read the label all that closely. What can I say? I was expecting a Belgian golden ale from the name, and when I didn’t detect any spices, I began to wonder. But now that I find out that there’s wheat in there, and I can’t say I detected that either. It isn’t a bad tasting beer, but it isn’t an especially flavorful one either. Appearance is like the Bubblejack - sort of a murky gold. Aroma of one this one is extremely minimal. Flavor is as I’ve described. Mouthfeel is smooth.
I wouldn’t really recommend this beer, but there is nothing to object to about it.
I got this bottle at 3 Cellars in Franklin, WI. Guerde (1297) - Leuven, BELGIUM - AUG 28, 2008
(bottle) Pours hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is initially lightly sweet with a scent of strawberries, but there is a hint of toast in there as well. Aroma changes to more of a blend between the sweet and grain, which makes me think of cereal with dried fruits in it. This is quite different than the standard banana and yeast that most hefes display. A hint of spice emerges later which I believe is clove. The taste is really bland with an almost undetectable sweetness to begin with, followed up by a light taste of lemon/minerals, that then gives way to an obnoxious grainy finish that does not go away soon enough. Medium bodied. esjaygee (3902) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2008
Cloudy orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma of corn, grain, yeast, wheat and fruit. Taste of wheat, sweet malt, corn, banana and lemon. Lively carb feel that has a dry corny finish. Not really a standard hefeweizen, more of a golden ale.

Pours a cloudy light golden with a medium off white head. Aroma is lightly sweet citrus and wheat. Flavor is a bit of wheat, light banana, light pepper and a lot of citrus. Finishes somewhat short and very citric. Really more of a blond ale fermented with hefe yeast. JPDIPSO (6298) - Wauwatosa, USA - JUL 26, 2008
Cloudy light golden color with a moderate yellow cream colored head. Quite active effervescence (3+). Light dry wheat and some citric zest in the scent. Quite generic and uneventful. Mild sweet wheat start that is quickly turned away by a sharp citric and bitter turn. Grapefruit and bitter citric peels amass in the middle and finish. Some hints of banana and a touch of white pepper in the linger. A faint hint of earth and smoke in the linger as well. low yeast profile. Interesting wheat ale. hopdog (13201) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 25, 2008
12oz bottle. Poured a murky golden color with a small sized white head. Lots of large and ugly floaters that thankfully quickly settled to the bottom of the glasss. Aromas of yeast, wheat, and light bananas. Tastes of bananas, wheat, with very light spices. WisconsinBeer (716) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 17, 2008
Bottle, consumed after a long hot day at work. Lazy hazy sunset yellow in color. Head is brief but diminishing with just a bit of lacing. Flavor is predominately wheat, with mild hints of fruitiness and some straw. Lively carbonation. Comes across as dry for a wheat beer. Pretty solid, not amazing, but good for sure. Tripplebrew (778) - Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 11, 2008
Pours a very hazy golden yellow with medium cream-colored head that slowly dissipates. Aroma is yeast, not necessarily banana but a creamy fruit. Flavor is creamy, hints of banana, yeast. Carbonation is fair to high with medium head.
