COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Spring Seasonal) 6%– A new take on an old style. Saison’s originated in the South of Belgium and are famous for the distinctive fruity, spicy notes given off from the yeast. They also tend to be lighter, effervescent, and quenching. Bauli Saison is all of that, but adds a unique twist. We’ve added White Peppercorns, Coriander, and Kaffir Lime Leaves to the beer to enhance the spice flavors naturally produced by the yeast as well as adding a distinct citrus flavor to make it a lighter beer on the palate but still providing tons of flavor.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thinnish off-white head, only about a centimetre tall. Aroma of very mellow wheat, yeast, coriander seed and citrus, all with a twang of metal and funk. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive wheatie flavours with a lot of coriander seed noticeable, some subtle grapefruit and lemon citrus flavours along with a dose of sugars from the fruits and the residual sweetness. Aftertaste shows a good balance of malt/wheat and sweetness and a nice sweetness throughout with not much hops to speak of at all, which is okay, considering the style. Overall, a nice offering that is very easy-to-drink and refreshing on a hot day! I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased a few minutes ago at Beer Table Pantry in New York (Grand Central), New York for US$7,00 on 09-June-2017. sampled in Central Park and walking back on 9th Avenue in New York, New York on 09-June-2017 walking my two daughters home.

On tap, Ginger Man NYC. Light golden colour, hazy, white foam. Medium high carbonation. Light malts, slight grain, quite dry, prickly bitterness, hints of the pepper and kaffir lime in the finish, not hugely estery or phenolic. Pretty drinkable and moreish.

Draught @ Taproom No307. Bright amber color with medium sized foamy white head, vanilla like typical Belgian yeast aroma, high carbonation, slightly tart caramel flavored beer, medium tart finish. The tartness is quite nice.

Draft at pony bar HK with Brendan. Pours a clear golden with light white lacing. Aroma is sweet yeast and light banana. Mouthfeel is on the thinner side of medium bodied with much more sour character coming through. Glad there’s not too much clove of banana in this one. Would love to try the Brett version.
