2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
341ml brown bottle. Gold in colour, looks to have a bit of haze. White head that fades fast. No signs of lacing. Nose has caramel, grain and a bit of fruitiness. Taste is a little fruity, some grainy notes, light grassy hops come in at the end. Dry, low bitterness, just a hint of grass in the aftertaste. Light bodied, high carbonation. Drinkable, but nothing special. Not worth the premium price, and I’m glad I found a single bottle to rate. A six pack of this beer runs more than most good US craft sixers here in Alberta. Can’t figure out why.
Quite forgettable in the grand schem of things with a bit of head and okay yellow body. Modest hoppy notes. Drinkable but impossible to remember from a bazillion other lagers. No idea why you would call this "premium". HeistAlmighty (1156) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUN 27, 2011
341ml bottle from Pepper’s Pub in Saint John (they no longer carry Russel products). A fairly generic lager, it reminded me of the local Alpine lager. Wouldn’t be too much trouble to session this, at least. DuffMan (10423) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 23, 2010
GCBF 2010. Clear light golden. Grainy aroma and flavour, a little sweet for my taste, and with an unfortunate funny faint chemical thing going on in the finish (plastic? rubber?). I got to this one late in the fest, and maybe I was getting the dregs? Really not sure what was going on... ILduce (283) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 18, 2010
Bottle from BC Liquor store--golden beer with little to no head. Weak aroma of hops and adjuncts. Taste, same; some grainy and veggie flavours. It being from Surrey explains everything--so I’m told.

A light golden lager with a thin white head. A light corny adjunct aroma with light metallic hops. In mouth, a boring lager with light malts, some honey notes, grainy, nothing special. turboespresso (256) - Port Moody, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 11, 2010
On tap. Clear and pale straw colour with just a small ring. Leaves a little lace. Carbonation is on the light side. Aroma is grassy. Taste is of a little light malt (like watered down honey) and mild grassy hops. Thin. Okay for a hot day thirst quencher but not flavourful. mcberko (17809) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 14, 2009
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2009 Pours light yellow with a bland aroma. Mild hoppy flavour with nothing standing out. piscator34 (2529) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 22, 2009
Canned sample. Medium gold in colour with strong fizzy carbonation. Aromas of sweet wildflower honey, flinty pilsner malts, and maybe a hint of butter caramel. Slightly sweet upfront on the palate, with notes of pale malt, a bit of earthy hops, and wet stones. Medium bodied for a pils, with a fair amount of bitterness. Not bad overall, but could do with a bit less sweetness on the nose, and a bit more character in the mouth. Average at best. Crit (3996) - Surrey, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 18, 2008
Gold with samll white head, neutral nose. Reminds me of the beers made during the dry beer fad years ago
