3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a fairly clear brownish amber colour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma has a lot of caramel and toffee with some toasted malt and light hop scents. Taste is not really sweet but is consistent with mild-above average bitterness. Medium body, creamy mouth feel, average carbonation. A serviceable IPA, but nothing amazing.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber colour. Aroma is toffee. Taste is a somewhat sweet malty taste with some cloves and a lightly bitter finish. IPA seems a bit of a stretch here.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared bomber. Clear deep gold to amber pour, finger of whit head, poor retention. Aroma was mostly malt, toffee and caramel, semi-sweet. The hops don’t come through in the taste as much as would be expected of an IPA either, would not have pegged it as an IPA. Still it’s a decent beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Russell Brewing _IP’eh_ English IPA at 6.5% ABV _(C$4.99 atQuarry Park Calgary Co-Op, 650 ml, no bottle date or best before)_
Appearance: clear pale to medium amber (some initial chill haze) with one finger of light tan head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Aroma: caramel and toffee malts, mild grapefruit and pine. (6/10) Taste: moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (5/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, moderate duration bitter finish. (3/5)
I was initially going to say “More like IP M’eh”, but that would probably be a little unfair. It’s malt forward but not overly so - certainly consistent with the intended English style. Not getting a lot of the Cascade hops, which makes it nowhere near as good as their IP G’Day in my opinion, but not necessarily any less well-made. The flavour started out being quite a bit less emphatic than the aromas promised, but that might be because I started off drinking it a bit too cold. As the beer warmed, and the chill haze diminished, the flavours woke up as well. If you get the opportunity to try this one, be sure not to drink it too cold. (And, Russell, if you’re really “fanatical about beer”, DATE YOUR DAMN BOTTLES.) (12/20)

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma is clove, yeast, citrus, lemon grass and caramel. Taste is sweet malts balanced quite well with the hop profile. Leaves slight tanin and puckering flavors. Again clove and honey here. Appearance is a clear amber with a thin pearl head that retains fairly well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
341ml bottle to tulip glass, the beer pours a reddy amber with an off white head which leaves a little top. The aroma is hop forward with pine, grapefruit, lemon, orange peel and a slight biscuit note. Taste is quite good and very well balanced with a nice malt profile to back the hopping up and instead of going for sheer bitterness this beer opts for more a good hop flavour. Palate is great, very drinkable, co2 medium, body thin, nice balance .Overall...I don’t know why these guys brew beers that are so split down the middle but whatever. Their good beers are great.

3.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Dark amber copper pour with medium opacity. Thin caramel colored head. The aroma is relatively weak, citrus fruit and resinous with a soapy quality. The taste is mild at first and grows on the palate over time with a dry bitterness on the finish. Piney and resinous with little in the way of the pac NW citrus hoppiness. It’s OK.
