COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Aud Blonde may be the lightest colored beer we have ever brewed at Russian River Brewing Company, but don't be fooled into thinking that this beer is light in flavor. It has a refined characteristic, which can be contributed to us blending pilsner malt with a unique hop called crystal. The distinctive characteristic of the crystal hop lends a citrus, almost eucalyptus quality in the aroma and mouth feel of the brew, while leaving the beer with a long dry finish.

On draft at Russian River Brewing (Santa Rosa, CA): Pours a light, clear pee color topped with a white fluffy head. Aroma of light pilsner malts, clean dough, and fresh wheat. Chewy, earthy and delicately spiced hops lead the palate into another dimension, along with light grapefruit and light bready malts. Light mouthfeel. Crisp, smooth, balanced. Drinkability: Not a fan of blonde ales, but one of the better ones out there. Pairing: Thai chicken. Rebuy: Probably not. #348 on 30032010, DG.

Tap at Russian River. Very light golden yellow. Has an almost completely transparent appearance i.e. there is the slightest haze. Head fades away rather quickly. Looks like a decent pale lager instead of a golden ale. Sweet and sugary beer I must say. Some light fruits and yeast are coming through. Rather weak aroma and not very nuanced. Slight grass with a decent sugar and yeast flavor. This compared to the Happy Hops, another Golden Ale that Russian River makes, is a let-down. Very mediocre. and I think the ratings are a bit inflated due to the fact that this is Russian River (I.M.H.O).

On tap at O’Briens. Gold pour, white head. Grain, light malt, citrus, and some floral hops. Very easy drinking, and pretty tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.

On tap at brewery: Pale hued but not pale on flavor. Great lace. Crisp texture. Flavors of crackers and grains blended nicely with citrus and herbs. Finished with a healthy amount of bitterness and some dryness.

Draught at Russian River. Very light blonde ale. Low ABV. Taste is nice and somewhat citrus. Not as intense as I expected. I guess that’s the problem with reputation’s bending. Very sessionable.

pleasantly surprised by this beer. I wasn’t expecting much from this style but it was quite good. Nice citrusy nose and flavour. Surprisingly full bodied. nothing to jump up and down over but a very easy drinking and flavourful brew for the style.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear, golden in color, with a light white head. The smell is light, malts, floral, and ok. The taste is slightly bland, malts, hops, some floral.

A blonde ale with thin white creamy head. A light herbal malt aroma with light British hops. In mouth, a nice classy biscuitty malt with light British hops, pinhey and floral, very good. On tap at brewpub, August 17 2009.

UPDATED: JUL 13, 2010 On tap at the Pizza Port Session Ale fest. Pours with a rocky white head over a hazed golden body with great lace. Aroma is spicy, and herbal hops, with a light melon note, pepper and a trace amount of wheat. Taste is light, bready and slightly metallicy bitter with a grassy and eucalyptus note. Fizzy and dry.

On tap at the brewpub on 6/30/09. Pours clear gold with minor lavendar and pine aroma. Little bitter, but overall a nice sweet golden that is pretty drinkable.
