On tap at the Toronado. What more can you say? Its the grandpappy of IPAs. Pours a nice, somewhat hazy orange with a surprisingly light, thin head. Big piney and grapefruit hops waft from the glass, so you know what youre in for. The hops take over your first sip and really show no mercy to the malt in the background. A bit unbalanced. This is straight up, O.G. West Coast IPA style. Lots of grapefruit and pinestraw. Good body with a clean, crisp and pretty dry finish. IPAs have come a long way since Vinnie first brewed this in the mid-90s, but this still holds court with the better ones of today. Cheers to a legend.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear golden. Aroma is tropical fruit and citrus. Body is medium, almost heavy, really sweet and also bitter, yet not overpowered. Clearly a younger brother of the Plinies. Beautiful.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2017 Tap: deep golden colour, clear, with foamy white long lasting head. Aroma: crisp, biscuity malt notes, overpowered by intense hop aroma, which takes on tropical fruits, supported with hints of pine & peppery notes. Flavor is very similar. Hop bitterness is very high, but not harsh. Finish is dry, bitter, bitterness lingers in aftertaste body is moderate to medium, texture is soft, carbo medium.

Tap at RRBC. A great west coast IPA! Clear dark gold with a quite thin white head. Very smooth and well balanced with a good malty backbone and pine, resin, citrus, grapefruit and floral notes. Almost as good as the Pliny.
