COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ale with currants added and aged in oak barrels.

When we made the Toronado’s 20th Anniversary Ale, we had no idea that it would turn out to be one of our favorite barrel aged beers we would ever make. With that said, we have always wanted to make a dark barrel aged beer using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon barrels but, we never were inspired. That is, until we blended five different beers to make the Toronado beer, the tobacco character from the the dark malts blended nicely with the furit character that developed in blending. So, with Concescration we set out to make a barrel beer using all Cabernet Sauvignon barrels. No, we are not saying that this is a replica of the T-rooms anniversary beer, after all, a beer like that can never be duplicated, and, there was no fruit added to that beer as there is with this one. All we are saying is that it gave us great inspiration to brew Consecration.

HomelessDrew (26) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 14, 2012
Pours dark red with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is tart wine, fruit and funk. Taste is sour, wine and plum with only a little oak overpowered by the tartness. Very fizzy carbonation, very dry and light body and the tartness sticks around with some wine flavors that linger. Overall an amazing sour beer worthy of the hype RR gets.

Pours reddish amber with a minimal beige head that fades quickly. Nice vinous aromas with currants and grapes and hints of wood and lactos. Tart attack, nice currants and wood complexity on the palate, finishes dry and tart. Very good.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark pour. Aroma of oak, cherry, tart and mild acid. Rich taste of cherry, tart, oak, vinous red grape, ripe fruit, soft sourness and a long finish. This is true quality.

Where and how : mini tasting, bottle Vintage 375? ml
Aroma 7.5 /10
Very complex. More harmonious than other recent samples of RR. Dark malts, some tartness and plenty of barrel feel. Side hinted with alcohol.
Appearance 3/5
Top: smaller fizzy of white top.
Base: dark amber.
Palate medium bodied, low carbonation, very long finish 3/5
Taste complex, as in aroma, dark malts, very string barrel notes, sour, slightly funky. Mind you this is 5 years aged sample. Interesting creation.

From tap at Russian River, Santa Rosa. Aroma is vinous with red wine, grapes, sour red and dark fruits, tart berries, vinegar, caramel, wood, and light funk. Flavour is nicely puckering sour. Body is above medium, rich.. Complex with a stunning tart dark fruity aroma, ample grapes and berries, a great wine sour!

Bottle at Federal Taphouse Harrisburg. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Huge red wine, wood, and tartness on the nose. Lots of red wine, dark fruit, and wood on the tongue. Hides it’s booze well. Nice!

Brought back from the brewery in Santa Rosa by my son - thanks! Hazy, light copper pour, not much of a head to speak of. Pleasant sour aroma, some Sweet Tarts candy. some apricot sourness. First impression of the flavor is that of walking into a humidor with some solid cedar woody accents, a touch of apricot, some raspberry sourness. Solid spritz to the mouthfeel. solid brew!
