Crystal clear golden yellow with a thick sudsy head. The aroma is rather delicate and fruity. I can smell apples and lemons and kiwi. The flavor is equally delicate and fruity. More of that apple and some pear. I have come to expect better from Russian River Brewing, but y’know? This isn’t half bad. RedHaze (371) - Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA - FEB 16, 2007
750ml bottle, batch 003
Pours a slightly cloudy, golden hued straw color with a one finger head. The head fades fairly quickly to a soapy cap, and thick ring, leaving behind a thin webbing of lace.
Smell; lots of tropical fruits, with mangoes, pineapple and some citrus that I can’t quite nail down and pears. There’s a bit of cloves and yeast, as well as some mid spices.
Taste; as with the nose, this is dominated by the fruits, with the mangoes, pineapples, pears and citrus. The spiciness is a bit more noticeable in the flavor, and the cloves are very present as well. There’s a bit of a bitterness in the finish, as well as a bit of a drying effect. After a while the spices and fruity flavors become a bit of a burden for me, and make this a little hard to finish
Mouthfeel/Drinkability; mouthfeel is medium bodied, but with a light carbonation it almost comes off a bit lighter. Very smooth and easy to drink, but for me it’s almost a little too fruity, otherwise this is a really good beer.

Pours a bright gold, very clear, with a tall white head. If Duvel were fruity, slightly less dry, and had a slight sour finish they would be brothers. Great malt base with a pineapple and pear fruitiness with a nice herbal hop finish. jzzbassman (1638) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 11, 2007
Poured a cloudy light yellow with an effervescent white head. Nice fruity aroma. Flavor is dry and well hopped, with a finish that really is nice and avoids being overly sweet. waolsen (1376) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - FEB 6, 2007

Smells wit-like and has a ligh golden yellow color. Full palate with medium carbonation. Very light sour flavor with spices, yeast, and lemon zest. Slightly funky aftertaste. detroiter (958) - Euphoria, Minnesota, USA - JAN 27, 2007
Pours a lightly hazed straw amber color with an inch of white head. Nice webby lacing and solid head retention. Lightly tart and fruity aroma, not as tart smelling as Sanctification however, and not really funky at all.
Again, the flavor is not as tart as Sanctification, but the tartness is definately there. So is a floral hop presence and a mild cheesy-yeastiness in the finish. Nice bready malt profile with some alcoholic heat in the finish. kkearn (1165) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 24, 2007
Sampled a few times recently, including on draft at Capone’s and bottled at the Monk’s cafe RR dinner 1/23/07. Hazy yellow-orange. Earthy aroma, with notes of hops, citrus and clove. Interesting flavor, with yeast, wheat and spice. Interesting interpretation of the style. spector (906) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - JAN 20, 2007
Got some light oak in the aroma.Pours a light copper with a huge white head.Flavors are of light sourness and a hint of spices.Alittle thin with some spice in the finish. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - JAN 18, 2007
Poured a light gold; very opaque, with visible sediment. Earthy-hoppy aroma; citrus; malt; fruity; floral. Flavors were subtle, but complex. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Yeast, some fruit, sweet malt, some ending bitterness. Not overly impressed, but was enjoyable.
