On tap @ O’Brien’s: Poured a dark golden honey color with a thin covering of film head across the Chimay trappist glass cup. Aroma is lively with a spicy scent of authentic Belgian farmhouse yeast that even on my third beer of the night had me drooling with saliva to taste which usually isn’t the case with most other saisons. The drink was heavily spiced with notes of clove and perfume/cologne like flavors but has a taste also had a striking resemblance to ginger soda. Has an empty finish which is sort of watery but not a bad attempt at the farmhouse style.

A hazy golden orange pour with a white head. Lactic sourness up front with a nice lemon zest note. Some grass, straw, yeast, and a light bready sweetness. Very bright and citrusy. The flavor has a very nice lemon tartness, lime zest, and plenty of grass. A bit of bread sweetness, yeast, straw, and a dry finish.

Pours a orangy yellow. Aroma is yeasty, slightly sour. citrus on the tongue. Excellent beer.

Draft at OBriens. Clear golden amber pour, with fluffy white head. Bread, rough grain, straw, light lemon grass, banana sweetness, and finishes with light tartness which is a bit strange. Decent and enjoyable, but not a fantastic saison.

Hazy blond colour. This is rather gassy. Thin light body with a flavour that is a bit too sour and also bready/yeasty.

Slightly hazy straw color. White head with some lacing. Taste has nice spicy notes, ovverripe banana. Crisp malts, some hay. Dry finish. Sliiiightly tart with some green apples. Lovely! Aroma is pretty clean and bisquity. Some spice and leather (?) notes. Good brew!

On tap at the brewpub. So-so saison, certainly displaying white pepper, coriander, and yeast. Not a lot of inviting spices, however. Quaffable. Blonde coloured body.

phaleslu (10099) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 5, 2012
Draft at the brewpub, served in a sampler. Pours a hazy gold color with a white head that laces the glass evenly. Notes of banana, bready malts, clove, sugar, light bready funk, straw, apricot, and light white pepper. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bready mouthfeel. Dry finish. Solid saison.

Not a huge Saison fan but this is tasty. Smooth and bubbly. Sticky head. Draft at Russian river. Good grapefruit backbone ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a growler. Pours a hazy golden amber with a small white head that has good retention and leaves a decent amount of lacing on the glass. The aroma is earthy with a light mineral note, a hint of apple, and a peppery note. The Taste is dry and earthy with a bit of pepper. The finish is dry and earthy with some light apricot. Medium body. Medium carbonation. A pretty solid American Saison.
