375ml bottle thanks to Toby. We opened a new one and I went back to my back log to find notes on this vintage. A little different then the new batch but always great. Pours out a pinkish purple topped with a small head. nose is great cherries raspberry jam sweetness wood and a nice tartness. taste is more of the berry mix barrel notes and a pucker sweet tart. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2015
Draft at Monk’s Cafe in Philadelphia, PA.
Pours a very hazy, bright ruby red color with a pink grapefruit-colored, one finger head. Good retention, slowly fading into a lasting ring. Spotty lacing left behind.
Inviting aroma with earthy oak, musty funk and ultra fresh vinous fruit. The raspberries really stand out with a juicy, seedy and jam-like quality. The raspberry and other dark fruit notes are a nice counter to the toasted oak, lactic acid and funky bugs.
Tart and puckering with a nice balance of musty funk, sweet beery and earthy oak. There’s a subtle lactic presence in finish that compliments the barrel, fruit and sour notes. Not acidic or harsh with the perfect amount of sourness that counters the oak barrel and seedy berries. Sweet vinous raspberries flavor is strong but not as prominent as it is in the nose. Very juicy and fresh with lots of raspberry, currant, grape and other dark fruits. Very complex yet remains delicate and very easy to drink for a sour. wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 11, 2015

Tasted on 10/9/15 from a corked and caged 375mL bottle. Pours a very nice, bright burnt orange color with a thin white head that quickly disappears. The nose is full of tart raspberry, with just a bit of malt, showing a touch of oxidation, and still plenty of vanilla oak. The flavor is very sour, tons of tart raspberry, very nice funk, and a nice bit of vanilla oak. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long funky, sour raspberry, and lightly oaky finish.
Bottle: 2012 vintage, Temptation base. Thanks, Nate. Ruby-red grapefruit flesh color with deep copper towards the very core. Soapy foam cap the color of lavender that dissipates after a few minutes. Raspberry up front on the nose, obviously. Mostly tart & sharp with modest acidity, a touch of sweetness in the periphery. Also getting green apple, red grape, & tart cherries. A touch of funk from the critters & wild yeast, kind of a musty vibe in the back with a touch of moldy oak. Huge berry flavor; raspberry, cherry, red grape. Moderately vinous with a nice tannic & oaky vibe that sweeps in halfway through. Mild acidity with a puckering tartness & strong yeasty notes in the back-end; cork, must, damp cellar-floor funk. Dry finish, mouth watering, tart, & delicious. hopscotch (11182) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 2, 2015
Bottle... This beer rocks!… Pours clear and deeply red with a fleeting, slightly pink head. The aroma is dusty, fruity, lightly funky, vinous and woodsy – black raspberries, dark cherries, vintage cheese-like and horseblanket funkiness, oak and a hint of red wine. Medium-bodied and a touch coarse with vibrant carbonation. The flavor is fruity, tart and lightly sweet – a collection of berries and cherries. Finishes tart, raspy and dry. Bottle shared at 50belair’s pad in 2013. Not certain who provided it. Either the host, Dstructo or landhoney? Regardless, another world class beer from the fine folks at Russian River!

Aroma is rather sour with a bit of old raspberry character. Medium light oak notes with some hints of cherry and tropical fruit.
Pours a cloudy, murky brownish color with some red highlights and a faint slightly off white head that quickly recedes. No lacing and faint legs.
Flavor is also very acidic and not very sweet with a light vinegar note. Light raspberry character remains, with quite a bit of tropical fruit and cherry notes. Lighter oak notes and a hint of alcohol.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a funk filled, rather sour beer with some light raspberry notes remaining and some balanced oak notes. djd07 (15356) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 24, 2014

Pour is ruby red with a thin pink head that disappears immediately. Nose is heavy raspberry, very fleshy and ripe, strong Brett notes, cobweb and dusty. Taste is heavily tart with loads of raspberry up front and heavy Brett behind. A touch acetic, extremely sour, cobweb and leather. Body is light, moderate carb, probably past it’s prime but not much and still very tasty. jandd1983 (4550) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JUL 10, 2014
