Blonde Ale aged in Chardonnay barrels with brett, lacto, and pedio (base beer is Temptation). This sour barrel-aged blonde ale has 30 pounds per barrel of fresh raspberries to make a beautiful reddish/pink beer! Nicely balanced with sweet raspberry and tartness. This beer is made only once a year in conjunction with our month-long fundraiser for the Sutter Breast Care Center of Santa Rosa during Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 100% of the proceeds of this beer will be used to help men and women in our community in their fight against breast cancer!

2013 & 2014 Info: The base was 80% Temptation and 20% Sonambic blend. It was about 7 or 8 weeks on the fruit at around one pound/gallon.

Deep red with a rich raspberry nose. Flavor wasnt as fruity as thr nose but crushable none the less. 2014 variant, very solid beer

Bacterial (2986) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - OCT 5, 2014
Beautiful clear red pour at the brewery with just a slight white head. Nose is slightly raspberry. Its there but does not smack you in the face. Taste is really excellent. Tart, raspberry fruit, medium carbonation, sour and crisp.

Bule (2137) - California, USA - OCT 5, 2014
On tap at the brewery. Pours a pink color without much head. Medium sour and a mild raspberry flavor.

Bottle from errl-thanks, Chris! Gorgeous light blood orange color, perfectly clear. Amazing fresh raspberry nose, with some light lacto, and bretty tropical fruit elements. White wine character, with perception of sweetness from the fruit, but clearly dry with a tart raspberry finish. Amazing stuff. Preferred over Atrial on flavor, though Atrial may have a better nose.

[ Bottle ][ ½ of 37.5cl ][ Tasting ][ Trade ][ Snifter ][ 9.24.14 ]
Fiery grapefruit-gold, extremely effervescent, fizzy white head dies quick. Heavy seedy raspberry sweetness in nose, extremely low acid and bitterness, soft lactic and citric acids drowned slightly by extremely fizzy carbonation that leaves heavy mineral notes. Soft, lightly watery front palate, so fizzy the co2 bitterness and minerality dominate, considerable seed and sugar mid with fruit notes, arsenic aspects almost non-existent in doughy, puffy high-carbonated finish, more minerals, bit syrupy with fruit sweetness contrasted against high co2 bitterness. Warmth brings more lactic sourness and seed to balance the flavor, more-so than nose. Rough merging of elements, some high points, but it’s definitely a blend.

just a tiny tiny bit less awesome than the first time I had this. still a little jammy without being thick or sweet with adequate tartness and sour pucker at the end. Hope they keep making this...

Bottle. Ruby pour with white head. Nice raspberry and tart aromas. Full raspberry, tart and funky flavors.

UPDATED: SEP 24, 2014 Re rate during raspberry sour tasting. Pour is amber orange with a pink hue and a small amount of tight white head. Nose is fleshy raspberry, strong and bright, hints of oak and vanilla, just a touch of plastic phenol, not much else. Taste comes together a little better and offers a touch more temptation, the raspberries are again bright and not sugary. Semi sour finish, notes of leathery brett, a hint of acetic acid. Probably best to drink sooner than later. Pour is pinkish orange with a mostly white head. Nose is heavy fleshy rasp with notes of vanilla and some oak with hints of leather. Taste is a bit more rounded, very high carbonation and a dry finish. The fleshy raspberry had a nice balance or dusty cellar and notes of leather. Barrel and vanilla come in through the back.

Orange pour, silky white head that leaves nice lacing. Nose and taste are sour raspberries. Very pronounced raspberry. Smooth mouthfeel.
