COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Each time we make this ale we pick a different single variety of hops and use them exclusively in the brew. The malt bill stays fairly consistent from batch to batch so as to allow the distinctive hop flavors to come through. Here are just a few of the hops used in the past: Simcoe, Vanguard, Sterling, YCR-004, Amarillo, Azzaca, Idaho 7 (NJ7), Satus, Santium, Tomahawk, and Columbus. Available on draft seasonally.O.G.: 1.060;50 BU’S.

Editor: Please make note of the hop variety when ordering and rate under the correct variant rather than this generic entry if possible

Tap: Pours dark clear gold with a one finger white head. The nose is fresh citrus and malt. The taste is citrus, toffee and light pine in the finish. Medium bodied. Nice IPA.

Clean and extremely floral nose with a hint of biscuity malt. Orange blosson and citrus nose leading to a very clean and peonounced hop bitterness that leads to a wonderfully oily resinous mouthfeel. Nice hop finish with an extremely dry followthru.

On [email protected]’brien"s: Golden amber in color with a 1/4 inch (bar pour) white head. Aroma is lightly sweet with citrus. Flavor starts lightly grapefruity with a hint of pine finishing kinda dry with an orange peel bitterness. Hoppy and flavorfull without being over the top with hops.

Poursa golden-orange hue with a halo of a head. Aromas of caramel, roasted malt, a little honey. Medium bodied with flavors of caramel, lager yeast, mild bitternss. A decent session ale and much better than russian rivers other single hoped brew, Dr. Zeus.

Alla spian al brewpub. L’ipa della casa che mi è piaciuta di meno, piuttosto scarica e meno intensa rispetto alle sue sorelle maggiori...ha un grado alcoolico però decisamente + abbordabile.

3 oz chilled pour from tap into cylindrical taster as part of Russian River’s “everything on tap” sampled (16 beers this time around) at the brewery itself. I realize that drinking 16 different 3 oz pours is not ideal for proper rating, but when will I ever have an opportunity like this again? A little tropical fruit and a pleasant bitterness .

cprochak (590) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2009
On tap at the brewpub on 6/30/09. Pours yellow, little white head. Nice citrus aroma with hints of grapefruit and orange. Only mildly bitter up front, but then has a long dry finish.

On tap at the brewery, the Hop 2 It is designed to show off a single hop variety in each version - and this one doesn’t disappoint. Pours light orange with nice head and lasting lace. Good malt/hop middle palate balance, finishing with a citrusy wash.
