From a growler & reviewed fall 2011. Pours a clear golden color with a 1 finger head. Smells of sharp piney hops, a bit of grass, and grapefruit rind--love it. Taste is a bit more mellowed than the nose, but the grapefruit rind continues through. Doesn’t seem to be much malt, but the refreshing hoppy bitterness and dryness make it super easy to drink. Thin moughtfeel and medium carbonation. Enjoyed this more than any Pliny the Elder or Blind Pig to date.
On tap at Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, CA-USA. Gold hazy bright pour, white foam. Nose: a bit fruity, piney. Mouth: bodied beer, round rich taste, round piney character.

Złote, lekko mętne. Dużo mniej aromatyczne i intensywne jak Pliny i Blind Pig. Na uwagę zasługuje bardzo oleista faktura. Dużo ananasa, bardzo dojrzałego mango. Na przeciwległym biegunie nuty sosnowe, żywiczne i ziemistw. Spora słodycz. Pełne ciało. Finisz chmielowy. Nie jest tak wytrawne jak Pliny i Pig. Dość zapychając, mocno goryczkowe z długim zalegającym finiszem. Z pewnością najgorsze ich IPA i w mojej opini jedno ze słabszych piw. 6,75% alk. Ok. 15 BLG

"a very floral IPA. just a touch under Blind pig IMHO. The aroma was a touch subdued compared to PIG & PLINY, but still great. the flavor was the strong point. a third great IPA from RR!!"

A- Pours a clear copper hue with a frothy 2 finger head.
S- Aroma is very piney with floral notes.
T- Deep, hoppy, floral notes with a long, bitter finish. Very light on the front end with the piney hops smacking you like a load of bricks on the back end.
M- Medium bodied with ample carbonation
D- Definitely an easy one to enjoy. Even seasoned hop heads will put this one into the very hoppy category. While it was good I can see why Blind Pig is the IPA they bottle. The nose just isnt quite there. mrhoppy (1288) - Santa Clara, California, USA - AUG 12, 2013
Tap: Pours golden yellow with a thin white head and slight lacing. Smell is of pineapple, biscuit, and grass. Taste is of citrus, pineapple, with a bitter hop finish. It’s a great one! ineedbeer (2147) - Oakland, California, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Aroma is fairly hop forward with a good grapefruit and pine resin aroma along with a bit of a sweeter citrus note and lemon. light cracker malt aroma to balance out the hops.
Pours a fairly clear golden orange with a thick white head that has good retention. Good lacing.
Flavor is fairly malt forward at the beginning with lots of cracker and a faint sweet caramel note. Mid palate the hops and bitterness hits along with the hop flavor. Hop flavor is grapefruit and pine resin with a light orange note. Bitterness is moderately strong and lingers in the finish with a hint of alcohol.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Finish is a bit sticky but fairly dry.
Overall, a good clean IPA but the style has moved towards a more hop forward profile, especially in the aroma. I also prefer IPAs that are drier than this one. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - APR 18, 2013
Pours clear palish amber with a small off white head leaving lace. Aroma is malty hoppy fruity citric. Flavor as aroma goog bitterness and fruityness. Finishes bitter grapefruit fruity. Marsiblursi (3076) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - NOV 9, 2012
(Draught) Pours golden with an off-white head. The aroma holds grapefruit up front with undertones of floral perfume, tart peach, passion fruit, mango, honey, nectar, yeast and dry toast. Clean and bright on the nose. The flavor is near dry, medium bitter and light acidic with grapefruit, flowers and grass. Hints of toast, bread, pine and fruits. The mouthfeel is clean, soft and round with a light to medium carbonation. Long, grapefruity finish. Medium bodied.
