On tap at Toronado for Barleywine fest ’09. Solid, not surprisingly considering it’s from RR. Dark, somewhat cloudy brown color. Aroma is dark fruits and sweet malt. Flavor of caramel, toffee, bourbon, port, brown sugar, and a little earthiness. Nice smooth and fairly full mouthfeel.

On tap at Toronado. Dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Molasses and darkfruit aroma with strong brown sugar notes to the taste. Yummy.

Draft at Toronado BW fest. Dark brown. Rich aroma of preserved fruit and molasses / sugar. Flavor is similar, but the malt is a little strange / earthy. Could be the yeast.

Nose of dried fruits, caramel, chocolate, cherries, boysenberries, cranberries. Slight must. Medium to full body, deep garnet color. Figs, chocolate, malt, slight cherry, earth and complex melanoidian like aspect. Slightly sweet finish, finishes full

Tap at Toronado. This beer pours with a dark brown color. It definitely needs to warm up to shows its full complexity. It has strong flavors of dried fruit such as apricot, some breadiness and some toffee and caramel. Very smooth and hides the alcohol well. Very good.

Pours deep brown with a finger thick tan head. Nice full nose and flavor with dried fruit, molasses, toffee and some yeast. Full mouthfeel.

marcus (10222) - Sacramento, California, USA - FEB 12, 2009
On tap at Toronado RR Night. This dark brown ale poured with a decent beige head. The flavor starts off sweet and malty with a slightly bitter yeasty finish. The alcohol is well-concealed. This is a nice example of the quadrupel style.
