3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Glowing amber appearance with a little bit of head. Grainy vinious malts with lots of caramel (Im catching a reoccuring theme in Vinnie's brews). Mineraly with some hoppieness and fresh snow dustieness. Very smooth and warming.
Hazy brown with white lacing. Sweet caramel aroma. Very malty, sweet, alcohol flavour. A simple beer, that ok to drink, actually gets better as u drink! (11%) t4h2c0 (96) - seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2009
tornado 08’, didn’t take notes but I remember it being copper colored and very hoppy for a barley wine. starts with a full flavor that stings the tounge a little (hops?) and finished with a strong alcohol and sublty malty finish. I think I really liked this one at the time because it stood out from a lot of the other great barley wines, need to try again. ABUSEDGOAT (2965) - California, USA - FEB 17, 2008
Draft from Toronado Barley Wine Festival. Amber orange color. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, caramel, fairly similar to the Pliny beers. Medium to heavy body, moderate bitterness and sweetness. Decent and well made, but somewhat forgettable given what else they had. auto (163) - California, USA - FEB 19, 2007

1/2 pint at RR - Last one of the night and after 10 hours at the brewpub, I was still impressed. Aroma is a strange mix of yeast, malt and hops that I wasn’t expecting from a barleywine. Bubblegum, caramel, earthy hops and spice. A Belgian insipred barelywine? Pours hazy yellow-brown with a small head and great lacing. Flavor was a good match to aroma. Palate is sticky and sweet. Very tasty and I will admit to not having much time or space to give this one the attention it deserved. aspidites (1271) - manteca, California, USA - OCT 9, 2006
Bready, malt forward body with tons of fruit. Hops are big and bold as well as surprisingly well balanced. Velvety smooth mouthfeel that seems more delicate than the style normally allows. Apricot and vanilla notes with pears and caramel covered plums. Nice clean and soft example of the style. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 5, 2006
On tap at the Beveridge Place Pub Baleywine Bacchanal. Light copper with huge off white head. Hoppy aroma. Sharp hoppy taste with a decent balance. Alcohol really comes out. droopy49 (97) - Lancaster, California, USA - FEB 28, 2006
On tap at RR brewpub 2/18, and Toronado BW-fest 2/19/06. Poured a light amber color with a thin, quickly diminishing off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma with a nice malty flavor that finishes with a mild hoppy aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence yet smooth to drink. A solid barely wine.
