4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 20/20
Seeing as Pliny has such an incredibly high rating, it has quite a bit to live up to, it has never disappointed me.
I chose to review it (finally) after my girlfriend brought me a 2 liter growler full of it when she had stopped at the brewery on her way back to So. Cal.
The color of this beer is a nice golden/slightly orange straw color with a good head on top.
The smell of this beer is amazing. I would say it is by far the most aromatically pleasing beer I’ve come across. Usually a (D)IPA has a pleasing smell, but this is on a whole different level. It’s really difficult to describe, but lots of citrus and some mild pine, very floral. The smell of this is better than the taste of many other beers I’ve had.
The taste is as you would hope/expect it to be. Lots of hoppy citrusy and bitter goodness. Hardly any malt on this one, but just enough to balance things out on the end. Many times with a really hoppy beer you get a powerful/off-putting aftertaste, but nothing of the sort here.
51cl bottle at RBESG, Tallinn. Pour clear golden with a white head. Quite intens hoppy aroma with pine, herbs, citrus and fruits. Medium sweet with lovely hoppy flavours and a strong, but balanced bitterness. Really tasty stuff! martjoobolut (4387) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 22, 2017

Bright citrusy aromas. Gold and clear in color with nice head. Beautifully balanced profile of malt/ hops. Nice underlying malt background with nice citrusy notes of orange, grapefruit, and faint tangerine. garroch (58) - New York, USA - JUL 11, 2017
Poured from a bottle. Clear, lightly hazy gold color. Fine lacey head. Aroma is mainly grapefruit and pine resin with floral hops; barely detectable funk. Taste is grapefruit, pine, caramel malt, with very bright floral hop overtones. Medium body, finely carbonated. Finish is grapefruit, pith, grass. Really smooth, bloody delicious.

Butelkowane 22.06.2017 - pite 20 dni po. Krystalicznie przejrzyste, jasno bursztynowe, dość pokaźna piana średnio- i drobnopecherzykowa, ładnie koronkuje.Aromat żywiczny, cytrusowy, słodowy, ale dość słaby, jeśli chodzi o intensywność to nie powala. W smaku wytrawne, chmielowa bomba, lekko grapefruitowe, baza słodowa i karmel gdzieś tam w tle, goryczka żywiczna wykręca i pozostaje długo na języku. Alkohol znakomicie ukryty. Gluti (40) - - JUL 10, 2017
refreshing, good but not overpowered hop aroma, good carbonated, like it... Cimbasso (892) - - JUL 9, 2017
Golden in colour with a white head. Very fruity aroma. Taste is extremely full with a very silky, almost creamy, mouthfeel. The balance of the taste is supremely good; the sweetness and caramel quality of the malt is offset by fresh fruity flavours of grapefruit, pine resin and orange. There are also subtle notes of melon and lychee. Good, bitter finish. A real masterpiece. tapefuzz (530) - Massachusetts, USA - JUL 7, 2017
510mL bottle. Pours clear gold with a medium, foamy off-white head. Aroma is pine, resin, grapefruit, some caramel, and floral hops. Taste is caramel, pine, light grapefruit, and resin. Citrus notes brightly accent the pinier elements. Strong bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Silky, almost creamy, mouthfeel. shoelsch (2) - - JUL 7, 2017 does not count
Lives up to its reputation. Piney, grapefruit, minute bitterness...refreshing and smooth.
