Pours dark maroon to brown with a beige head. Smell is roasty and mildly malty. Taste is dusty, roasty, and mildly coffe like with a light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Standard solid roasty fresh porter and very enjoyable.

Tap @ brewery. Clear, deep Ruby/mohagony with a tan head that laces well, becomes a ring and lasts fully. Malty aroma of Baker’s chocolate, dark fruit, molasses and a bit of musk. Body is medium with light carb and a solidly dry finish. Flavor is lightly sweet, dark roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, molasses an a long lightly bitter aftertaste with pine and chocolate.

Honestly, is there a bad Russian River beer? 16oz pour is a lightly viscous mostly opaque black with a creamy off white head. Malty, chocolatey aroma that has some bread, toast, cookie dough and brown sugar. Flavor Ian really solid and more of the same; malty, milk chocolate, brown sugar, multi grIn bread. Nitro at Russian River. Deep, clear ruby pour with a thin but wildly persistent yellowish cream head. Full sheets of nitro lace. Nose is chocolate brownie. Taste is more meaty and smoky than the OVL stout. Thicker body but still not so thick for style. Sessionable, coffee bitter, saving grace of hazelnut butter and nutella. Richer palate. No citric tanginess. Nice stuff. Melted chocolate character is appreciated. No sugar or astringent notes. Good stuff. Palate is slightly tangy but immensely clean.
