Wonderful toffee, cream and mocha nose that is very well balanced with roasted and coffee flavors and no malt astringency. Soft clean mouthfeel that seems more brown porter that anything else. Clean beer that is a true seesion porter.

On tap at Toronado in SF. Nicely done porter, one I could drink all night. Dark brown, nearly black in color with tan head. Coffee, bitter cocoa, and roastiness on the aroma. Same on the flavor, lots of coffee and some licorice. Smooth mouthfeel.

On tap at the Russian River brewpub in Santa Rosa. Dry roasty up front with a nice roasty finish, this is a tasty porter

Hand bottle shared by iowaherkeye. Thanks! Poured a dark brown color with orange highlights. Whiffs of cocoa, toffee, and roasty malt mingled with sweet cream and coffee aromas. Mmmm. Medium bodied and delicately sweet with mild bitterness. The flavor profile included the likes of light coffee/roasty malt, milk chocolate, toffee, and citrusy hops. Really good porter.

Big thanks to xmarcnolanx for sharing this gem of a porter. Pours very dark with a crimson tint and a nice tan head. The aroma has chocolate, vanilla, cream, roasty traits with no bitterness and no hops noticed on the nose. Medium body that is crisp and grainy with sharp forceful carbonation. The flavor starts with dark chocolate, but that’s quickly overtaken by lightly-harsh heavily-roasted malt and some spicy hops. The finish is quite abrasive (in a good way) with roast and hops. This is very nice and enjoyable.

Pours dark brown with red highlights. aroma is like the OVL stout (coffee, baker’s chocolate, beans), but lighter in nature. maltier and slightly sweeter flavor, mostly roast and coffee with some caramel. finishes with coffee, chocolate, and earthy hops. Medium-light bodied and creamy.

Sampled at City Beer on tap. Pours deep brown with a nice toffee and chocolate aroma. Palate is very nice. The malts are really good and drink smooth. Hopping is more than I expected and flow very well. Nice brew.

On tap at the brewery. Pours deep dark chocolate brown. Classic (but well done- clean) porter aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and a bit of caramel. Perfectly emanating roasted coffee and dark chocolate flavor. Minimal hop presence that provides enough backbone. Just a great porter.
