On tap @ GABF. Just about black in color with a khaki head. Nose is balsamic vinegar, leather, and tobacco. Slight fruity sweetness. Green apple skin, oak, and roasted malts. A nice balsamic character to the flavor. Plenty of leather, grass, oak, and apple skins. Hints of raisin and grape sweetness. Fairly dry sour finish. Nice carbonation. Draft at GABF. Pour is hazy brown with a small brown-colored head and great lacing. Big dark sour fruits, black currants, red grapes, blueberries, vinegar, and oaky aroma. Taste is blackberry, tannic, woody, plums, huge acidic sourness, with some vinegar on the backend - very tart. Medium body with soft carbonation. Woah now. Didn’t realize this was a new sour from RR! Stoked to have it fresh on tap at the brewery yesterday. Pours jet black cola color with a ruby toned head that is minimal. Nose is different. Milk chocolate, light coffee, and soft roast mixed with a tiny singe of tartness hits the nostrils. The flavor is just heavenly. Notes of a beautiful porter flush in, dried fruits, soft roast, chocolate, and brown sugars. As the sour funk sets in, a grape tone does as well, soothing out the perfect carbonation of the brew. The sour funk takes over, but blends with all the other flavors, leaving you with a beautifully done BA porter. Hints of what I’d think would be red wine are in there towards the finish as well. Damn good stuff!
