COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian style Strong Dark Ale has a tawny brown color and aromas of banana and spice that dominate the initial bouquet of the beer. Lean malt flavors blend perfectly with fruit driven characteristics created by the classic Belgian yeast which fermented this ale. The alcohol content is deceptively smooth just like its sister beer Damnation. Brewed just once a year for a release in January.

Bottle 375ml. corked.

Clear medium to dark brown red colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, dry, moderate yeasty, dark fruit, psicy yeast notes. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet with a long duration, tart, caramel, dry. Very balanced and a very nice beer ;-) Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121019]

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small off-white head. Roasted malty aroma, light spiced and estery. Sweet malt flavoured, solid estery and roasted malt in a slight astringent mix. Ends phenolic and dry.

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thick light orange head. The aroma is sweet and very spicy with especially cinnamon coming thru, while the flavor is sweet malty again with a strong spicy note, but here cloves are the strongest component. The end is dry with a spicy note still lingering around.

Blind tasting with tarheels86, thank you sir. Called "Salivation" by the gf. Clear reddish maroon, scant tan head. Taste is bitter cocoa, black pepper, with a bitter chocolate finish. Simple and straightforward.

Bottled. Dark ruby, creamy head. Fascinating aroma of lemon, aniseed and licorice. Sweet and densely malty with medium body. Licorice and aniseed are on full display overshadowing grainy roasty flavours and plums. Soft and dangerously drinkable. Salty finish. A beer with lots of character.

Cloudy brown ale. Malty and slightly chocolately like a Scotch ale but with the crispness and sourness of a Belgian. Dry semi sweet finish.

Bottle shared at CPK, London - thanks to Jack! Pours red-brown with a fluffy, light tan head. Ripe, light tangy berry nose, some plums. Medium sweet flavor, brown bread, Belgian candi sugar, ight yeast, dark cherries, slight tang. Medium to full bodied with smooth, massaging carbonation. Fairly warm finish, brown sugar, ripe plums, figs, berries. Very tasty.
