COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian style Strong Dark Ale has a tawny brown color and aromas of banana and spice that dominate the initial bouquet of the beer. Lean malt flavors blend perfectly with fruit driven characteristics created by the classic Belgian yeast which fermented this ale. The alcohol content is deceptively smooth just like its sister beer Damnation. Brewed just once a year for a release in January.

Brown yellow pour some cherries aromas. Tastes melanoidin. Some cardboard. Not a bit fan of this oxidation circus.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark pour. Aroma of yeast eaters, caramelised malt and nuts. Taste has soft hazelnut, ester, caramelised malt and a nice finish with some ripe fruit. Tasty.

Bottle at Side Project Cellar. 375 mL bottle shared by George. Thanks dude. The pour a darker brown with a light khaki head and a few spots of lace. The aroma is interesting. Lots of dark fruits and a strong Belgian yeast. It’s a little cardboardy, but not too shabby. The flavor is much of the same. Dark fruits, heavy malts, and a light sweetness. Not too bad. The mouth feel is a little heavy with a soft carbonation and a lingeringly sweet and fruity yeast finish.

Pours a deep copper, approaching brown with sudsy off white head and nice lacing. Roasty malty aroma, sweet. Sweet malty with light dry fruit and spiced notes.

Notes: on tap at the brew pub, June ’17
