On tap at the brewery in Santa Rosa, CA. Pours a dark brown with a good sized head. Nice creamy mouth feel with chocolate and coffee being the main flavors. I knew it was going to be good, but it exceeded expectations.

Draught at Russian River, Santa Rosa. Black beer with a nice beige head. Aroma from cacao nice, dark chocolate, tar notes, slightly fruity. Cacao nibs and dark chocolate in the flavor, licorice, some fruits. Solid kinda traditional porter. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - NOV 10, 2016
Draft pour on tap at the brewery (Santa Rosa, CA). They ran out of bottles, so we had to give this biggun a go here. Pours a thick dark viscous blackish opaque pour. Dark and dreary, a dark woody cocoa brown hue huts the edges. Frothy dark brownish head atop is full, laces nicely with frothy layer stocking and lacing well. Aromas are cocoa, chocolate, toast and roast. Biscuits, black malts, caramel and more cocoa. A dash of bitter earthy hops, husky roast, caramel, faint anise. Complete, rich, dark. Initial is deep and rich but not thick or overwhelming. Cocoa, caramel, toasty makts. Nothing too brooding, cocoa, earthy hops, a kiss of dark fruit. Caramel, faint anise, biscuits and black malts. Nothing as harsh as a roast or hop driven stout, this one emphasizes toast, dark malt deorh, flavor, and earthy hop flow. A toastiness, softened dark malts depth, cacao, silky black malts. Backend is toasty, carmelized, some brown malt molasses appeal really flexes it’s muscles at times. A bit bitter, firmly toasty, carmelized, earthy, sweet. A full Imperial Porter that still glides over the palate. Draft at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy brown color with amber edges and a small khaki head that leaves streaks and spots of lace in the glass while settling into a ring. Notes of chocolate, mellow roast and toast, brown sugar, a faint earthy hop, and just a wee bit of smoke. Medium-bodied, with a smooth, sweet, faintly bitter mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Draft at the brewpub. Pours b deep brown-black with s creamy beige head. The nose holds baking cocoa, earth, elk toasted bread. Medium sweet flavorbwith nicely layered chocolate, roast, burnt toffee, earth, brownies. Medium to full bodied with smooth mouthfeel a me average carboantion. Nose is roast malt, Chocolate, toffee fudge, light spice, charr, dark fruit rinds.
Taste comprises bitter roast, chocolate fudge, dates, raisens, molasses.
Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light warming alcohol.

Draught at Russian River. Opaque black liquid with small light tan head. Aroma of coffee, licorice, raw sugar, chocolate and raisins. Draft to half-pint at the brewpub. Looks good; a slightly translucent very dark cola with lighter beige head that steadily dissipates into bubbly lacing. Smells of dark malt, coffee, and mild coffee roast alongside a touch of chocolate and smoke. Tastes like it smells, but richer, with some piney hops and a bit more of a chocolate and smoke. Draft at the Russian river brewpub. Opaque black / dark brown. Coloiueed pour with a thin lastk g sticky light tan head. Aroma a is nutty praline. Soft roast. Mineral. Soft tart dried fruit. Flavour is composed of soft chocolate , soft roast roast, red berry, nutty praline, . palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, little milky. Some tart fruit. On tap at Russian River brewing. pours out black topped with a tan head. nose is roast malts chocolate a nice chocolate. Taste is more of the roast malts some coffee and lots for milk chocolate.
