UPDATED: MAY 15, 2016 Round 2 of Supplication after a little more experience...damn good beer.
375ml bottle thanks to changeup45. WARNING: stout drinkers first sour. Have the pleasure of drinking a batch 4. After popping the cork I got a familiar aroma of red wine. Maybe some barley wine mixed in. Pours a murky brown color into my balloon tulip glass. Keeps a nice steady thin foam island in the glass. Slight lacing. Sip #1. Holy moly this is gross. OK not gross just not expected. "Give it a chance Art". I keep telling myself "Think wine". Sip #2. Another whiff. Funky aroma. I smell some cherries. Wow is this thing Sour! The taste reminds me of Warheads candies I had as a kid. Maybe a cherry warhead. I wish I had a comparison with a fresh one at this point but I’m sure this is a delicious beer to some. No concern that it has gone bad. Let me check back after I’ve acclimated a bit..............OK I’m back. I’m getting used to this. More cherries coming out now. Still super sour. Causing phlegm to build up. Be right back. ...............ok I’m still going strong. I hope this is entertaining to some. If you enjoyed this message me and send me some other top 100 sours. I’ll do the same. The sourness is tolerable now. I think this is probably how first time IIPA drinkers feel. I’m definitely going to revisit and re-rate this one later. So my last few sips have actually been enjoyable and have changed my perception of this beer.

Sweetness of the cherry comes out in the nose. Long bitter after-taste. Brown and fresh. The malty nature of the brown ale does a great job rounding out the sour. Wow.

Reddish purple pour, smaller head, no lacing. Aroma of fruit, red wine, lactic sourness, jam. Jammy up front, sour cherries, sour, tart, red wine, light sweetness as well. Medium body, lower carbonation. PanMarek (460) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 25, 2017
Reddish brown pour with thick foam and lots of bubbles. Complex, earthy nose with fruits, including apple and cherry along with some faint caramel malt. Taste is even more complex, with the fruit sweetness and some tartness from the wine barrels, linked by the sour cherries. The yeast gives it a musty, earthiness and perhaps helps lighten the body. Little carbonation, medium body and a slightly dry finish.

Pours copper, clear with a little haze. Sour, malty aroma features scents of apple cider and purple grape. Really pleasant smell. Tart, sour taste. Lemon juice. Bitter. Metallic. Fresh, kettle-style sour mixed with a substantial, barrel-aged quality. Perfectly executed. Frothy in the palate. Really good.

Aroma 7.2 /10
Plenty of barrel character that clashes with brett yeast. A bit of mess. Fruity cherry on side.
Top: smaller fizzy of white top.
Base: dark amber.
Palate medium bodied, low carbonation, very long finish3/5
Taste complex, clash of barrel, sour cherry and yeast. Mild alcohol notes. I fail to see the greatness of this beer. Creative mess ?
Beautiful complex stone fruit-mostly cherries-on the nose, true sourness on the palate. I'd like a touch more sweetness-and maybe alcohol to balance the sourness, but hard to complain.

Bottle from Russian River, Santa Rosa. Aroma is huge Bretty barnyard funk, fruits, oak, wine, pinot barrels, tart cherries, malt, apricot, tart red fruits. Flavour is tart and medium sour. Body is medium. Amazing balance and drinkability. Superb American Sour, world class status well-deserved. Incredible, I wish I had bought more bottles! That rotten smell which makes sours good tasting. Cherry flavor is evident. High carbonation dark amber color. Very nice
